The cafe is aptly desrcibed by it name - a country market shed within it is the cafe. We were efficiently shown to our table by a lady who informed us that she had worked in the restaurant fort 14 years, who was clearly very proud of her cafe. We were told to help ourselves to decaf coffee and house... More

We stopped here with a group of ladies on tour. It was so good! They use as many of the local grown, produced items as possible in the meal. And you can tell by how fresh everything tasted! There is also a gift shop, and a market to buy fresh products on site too. Everyone was very friendly. We were... More

Over the past 5 years I have frequented this restaurant often. They offer great food, good value, good atmosphere, and started serving beer and wine about a year ago. In addition you will find mementos, souvenirs, local artist hand crafted goods and goodies for purchase. Also has a mini market, with raw milk, cheese, fresh baked pies, wine selection, fresh... Read about this restaurant/shop and just had to try it out while in Charleston. Too many good choices! I had the shrimp salad with a side of waldorf salad and homemade pimento cheese and crackers. Outstanding! Wife had the four vegetable plate. Again, too many good choices. I believe there were at least twenty different choices. Now there is not... More

After visiting the local tea plantation, our family stopped here for lunch. The ingredients were farm fresh and delicious. The she-crab stew was excellent. Service was very good.

In 2010 my family ate at the Tomato Shed after I'd read a few Internet blog reviews. Last week, while staying in Myrtle Beach, we made plans to meet relatives in Charleston for the evening. That afternoon we drove directly from Myrtle Beach to Johns Island just so my mother could eat at the Tomato Shed again. The food is... More

We stopped in on a Saturday. There was a 45 minute wait. You need to find the notebook to sign yourself up for a table, they don't do it for you. Once you get a table you also need to get your own drinks and silverware. And yet it is expected that you leave a tip... What really surprised us... More

quaint place - seating is in and around the gift shop. The PIES are awesome - highly recommend them. Service is friendly, clearly lots of locals. The food was good - long list of sides to get with your meal.
