Reds is a Lowcountry institution where locals pile in every weekend with their dogs. The food is good, not remarkable and it's nice being out on the water. Staff is always friendly if not a bit short handed.

We spent the week on Kiawah, mostly cooking in our cottage. We decided to go out for dinner on our last evening. The menu in our cottage for Red's looked really great, so we were very excited to try it out! We called ahead, but reservations were not accepted. We arrived fairly early, (5:30) to ensure a table for our... More

Reds is fine if you just want to hang out, enjoy the views and have a few cold drinks. The food is close to "bar food" with a low country twist. It's not bad, it's just OK. The great thing about Reds is the location. Bohickett marina is very nice; you can enjoy pretty sunsets over the marsh, and it's... More

The service was great but the kitchen has no idea about anything they are cooking. The peel and eat shrimp were cocktail shrimp with a dash of old bay and the low country boil had no flavor, had been sitting in a pot to where even the potatoes were mush and was a generally regrettable dish.

We suspect that because of the limited number of restaurants near Seabrook and Kiawah, this place runs on its proximity to the marina. We stopped in one night for dinner and to watch the US soccer team. Nachos were soggy from the grease and creamy cheese .... topping? [out of a jar, and only distantly related to a cow] ...... More

After pleasant afternoon drinks relaxing at the Ryder Cup bar on the Ocean Course (Kiawah) we wanted to find a low key place for food. It was a warm late afternoon but we opted to sit outside at Red's Ice House. We had a couple of draft beers to cool down; then started w/ tasty house salad (that had too... More

It seems that this is one of those places you go as a tourist, for the view not for the food. I (mistakenly) thought that because this restaurant was at a marina that they might have fresh local fish. No, i was wrong. That was my fault for assuming and not properly investigating. Service was terrible. Our waitress was no... More

I just got back from hosting my son's rehearsal dinner at Red's at Seabrook Island. I could not be happier with how it turned out! The event coordinator was so easy to work with and took care of things that needed to be done without me ever having to worry about it!! We did an "I DO" BBQ for about... More

This is located right on Bohicket Marina with a great view. Upstairs is a bar with a great balcony and is OK for drinks. The food is not good. You really go there for the view. Most of the seafood appears to have been frozen and recooked. The people next to us, on our last and final visit, had steamed... More
