My introduction to Wild Olive was a marvelous experience and certainly worth the trip out to John's Island. Our warm, marinated olives were a delicious appetizer as was my charred octopus, which was not "charred" at all but light, drenched in flavor and not a bit "bouncy" - one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had, in fact. My... More

This was our third visit to WO. We are from Philadelphia and have visited the Charleston area for the last two years for our daughter’s spring break. My husband loved this restaurant so much, we went twice last year. Apparently many others do as well. We selected it for dinner our first night in town and made a reservation for... More

Great food coupled with exception service made our group dinner outing an absolute home run! Definitely worth the trip to the 'burbs of Charleston. The calamari might have been the best I have ever had simply in that they were so light, mild and tender without an over play by the kitchen to re-invent the dish...simple was superb. All of... More

My second review. The freshest local ingredients when available. Great wine list. PLENTY of food! We both had the veal and it was incredible. Calamari was dine to perfection ... not fried to a crisp. The soup was great. This place is a Low Country jewel. Drive out to John's Island and enjoy!!!

Shared a meal with friends who had been here before. Every meal was great, good beer and wine, excellent atmosphere, quiet and comfortable for conversation. Excellent service - waitress remembered our friends - even what they had ordered! There aren't many restaurants on Johns Island but this one is worth looking for. Not inexpensive but worth it for a good... More

Been here too many times to count. Not once has it been anything less that fantastic. My favorite restaurant in Charleston. Coolest atmosphere.

Our last review was not very flattering about the Wild Olive. We tried to make reservations at the Fat Hen, this trip, but it was full. We decided to give the Wild Olive "one more try" before writing it off completely. I am Glad the Fat Hen was full..the Wild Olive must have been reading some of the bad reviews... More

There are not a lot of restaurants to choose from on the barrier islands of Charleston, SC but the Wild Olive is worth traveling to even if you are staying downtown. Specializing in upscale Italian dishes, the chef is very creative. One of my favorite dishes are Charred Octopus, Mushroom Parmesan Bisque, Sweetbreads fixed anyway. All of their vegetables come... Was looking forward to a wonderful dinner as I love Italian food and this restaurant had such great reviews. I ordered chicken parm and it was one of the worst dinners I have ever had! The chicken was dried out, there was hardly any cheese on it. It came with homemade pasta which I made the assumption would come with... More
