Best we've had here so far

Living just a few blocks from the Boathouse, we've tried it on several occasions and frankly have often been underwhelmed. We would love for this to be a great eatery because the location on Breach Inlet, with views of the intracoastal waterway, is the best around. Last night we were more impressed... read more

Excellent food, excellent service! Loved the atmosphere and the view. The drinks were amazing, the seafood cooked to perfection, the steaks practically melted in the mouth....No room for desert! Oh, the mac and cheese was amazing!

I had been there in 2013 and did not really plan on going back. However, when we went two (2) nights ago at my daughter's insistence they won me over. There were 7 of us and we booked a table on Opentable to be sure they could accommodate us. I had the fried shrimp and the were great! Several in... More

Weekend in for wedding planning, ate with future in-laws and then went back the night after wedding ceremony to try again. Sunset to die for. Great outside bar area. Meal was average but the ambiance was pretty special while outside. Table had Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Calamari...average Various meals lacking seasoning. I had the Broiled Seafood Combination...Average Husband had... More

The Boathouse used to be our favorite restaurant at Isle of Palms. The quality has decreased lately it seems. I am very picky about crab cakes and the Boathouse used to have delicious ones, but on this trip I found them lacking--too much filler and without the delicious sauce they used to come with.

Boathouse has a nice situation at the inlet with water views. We sat outside and enjoyed our meal. There was nothing fancy about the preparation but fresh fish is fresh fish and we enjoyed ours very much.

The seafood was not the quality it used to be. I think this restaurant is resting on it's name and needs to step up the quality of food it prepares. We ordered the calamari and jalapeno hush puppies for an appetizer and split the pineapple salsa grouper. The calamari was delicious - fresh and not overcooked. The hush puppies were... More

Parking is very limited. Waiting area outside is beautiful. Inside, it was packed. Furthermore, we were packed like sardines. Wait staff was excellent, as was the food.

Very limited bar service. Don't trust the $3 mixed drink specials. After you have your drink, you may fine out that yours didn't qualify. What I thought was going to be a $3 Jack & Ginger cost $6.50, plus tax & tip.
