A Go To for an Excellent Meal and View.

We generally try to have a meal at Boathouse when we are in the Charleston area. We especially make a point to go when they have the Ace Blade oysters on the half shell, which have a very short season and a have a lovely unique delicate flavor. The Boathouse is mainly seafood and they strive to... read more

I used to go to IOP every summer with my family when I was a kid so of course when I went back to charleston for a job interview I had to go back. I just love this place, and 8 years later it's as good as ever. We went in the dead of winter which was a change for... More

Food here is consistently good and the specials tend to be hard to resist. Cool atmosphere by the water whether it is winter or summer. The staff here is very friendly and we continue to be impressed by the quality of the service. Brunch is fantastic here as well.

I came here to celebrate my birthday with my family. Such a great choice! The food turned out perfect! I love the Gouda mac & cheese. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever food you choose. The waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. She really made my birthday a wonderful night!!

Best ever collards were actually the worst ever. Seafood was ok, but not enough food for the price. One crab cake appetizer was $12 and also $12 for 4 oysters! We will not be back.

It was 8pm on Sunday night (1/18) and Michael greeted us as we entered the restaurant. We just found him to be a great guy with a fun personality and could've talked to him all night (if it was possible). We felt like we knew him a long time and conversation was very easy with him. The food and cocktails... More

The good and service here is great. We had the elk burger and snapper. Both were cooked perfectly and the taste was great. The appetizers are always good. The service is wonderful our glasses of tea were never less than half full. It was cold the night we went and it was cool in the restaurant was our only complaint.... More

We live nearby and think that this place is wonderful. The food is good but the view and the service take it one step beyond!

Wherever you go in the low country you'll be told "we have the best shrimp and grits". While many places do have very good shrimp and grits, the Boathouse has the best. It is a twist on the dish with savory and slightly spicy flavors infused. I've come close to recreating it in my kitchen west of the Mississippi, but... More
