Lunch Buffet! Not to be missed! Real homemade cooking at its best!!!

If you are ever in Hilton Head Dye's is a MUST!! We only wish we were there longer to eat there AGAIN ! We have had the scrumptious pleasure of a buffet lunch and a dinner from a menu! The fried chicken is "to die for"!! The butter beans melt in your mouth! The Mac and cheese like no Other!... read more

We tried Dye's based on the recommendation of the Gullah tour guide on the Gullah Heritage tour. We were not disappointed. If you like Gullah food such as shrimp and grits and low country boil, this is second only to Lowcountry Backyard. Dye makes everything herself to order.

My daughter and I love a great shrimp boil and just had one of the best we've ever had at Dye's. Food is fresh and made from scratch. I'm not sure what was better .. the food or the friendly service. I can't wait to go back and try the chicken !!

Have had her lunch buffet. Returned with friends. Enjoyed fried catfish, one had shrimp boil, another whisky pork chops. Food very good. Dye is very gracious about sharing information about island, her family. Enjoyed her collard greens - first time ever finished helping.

I was blessed to have a fabulous lunch at Dye's just a week ago, when friends took me there. Dye herself served us, and told the story of the place. The fish sandwich I had was great, and the collards were perfect. I have eaten collards cooked at a wide range of restaurants, and cooked by gourmets, grandmothers, and just... More

My cousin and I had a delightful time at Dye Gullah's. We came for the Sunday Brunch Buffett. The establishment is small but cozy. Having never been to Hilton Head, Dye gave us a history lesson of the island and the people. The food was delicious!!! We both had two helpings of everything: fried chicken, ham, greens Mac and cheese,... More

While visiting Hilton Head South Carolina for the first time, my husband and I had the privilege of enjoying Gulla food served at Dye's Gullah Fixins. This "soul food" was made from scratch with fresh ingredients. It is probably the closest thing we will ever get to Grandma's home cooking. The butter beans and sweet potato cornbread were delicious! The... More

We visited Dye's on our vacation & it was some of the best food I have had. We had a very nice visit with the owner & another patron while we enjoyed fried chicken, gumbo, greens, black eye peas, lima beans cabbage salad & more. It was amazing. Felt like having dinner with friends. Thank you Ms. Dye. We loved... More

We first visited Dye's Gullah Fixin's in 2011. The food was excellent, and the service was good. We have returned four times since that visit. Our most recent visit in October 2014 was a huge disappointment. We found the menu to present southern cooking, country cooking, soul food--whatever you choose to call it. No special flavor was found in our... More

I understand the theme of this resturant but save your money. It really was not worth $20.00 a person especially for a luncheon meal. The food was good, not great but good. The buffet had a limited selection (1 meat / 1 pasta and some vegetables and beans). The temperature of the food was warm, not hot and we were... More
