Salty Dog and Hilton Head are synonymous. Hard to visit the island without stopping by here at least once. Don't come here expecting gourmet cuisine or low-cal options. Many entrees are fried. Try the calamari to start, but ask for the exceedingly hot sauce on the side. For entrees, try the crab cake sandwich or the catch of the day.... More

We were able to get seated and served right away. I ordered the fish of the day which was grouper (grilled) with a lobster cream sauce on top - it was excellent. Also included a crab cake which was also excellent. Fresh steamed vegetables au gratin potatoes completed the meal. Started the meal with hush puppies - loved them! You... More

This is a fun little place with tasty selections ..... we were seated outside (there are only three outside tables) and enjoyed cold beer and shrimp toast appetizer .... not bad but not great .... my lovely wife got the swordfish sandwich and enjoyed it (I am not a huge swordfish fan) and I got the crab cake sandwich and... We stopped in for lunch a few days ago. Food was average and overpriced - but to me that was expected in this touristy place. Service was average. I'd go back to try the drinks....we were seated inside and I wasn't offered a drink menu - so I skipped it and figured we'd just make it an eat and run.... More

Your better off going there for drinks than the food. The food was not all that. I got the Callaway fried shrimp and oysters. It was too much badder on the seafood to where all you could taste was the badder. It didn't taste like fresh seafood. And the food was well over priced. It was nice outside sitting on... More

Came here a few times with small children. The menu has great variety, lots of crayons and things to color as well as a great view of the mini-harbor. There is an outdoor bar and seating here as well but it was pushing 100 degrees so we opted to stay inside!
