We came for lunch on a Saturday. It was busy. We were seated quickly and courteously. Ordered and our food was brought within 15 minutes. That alone was impressive. Employees here really try to be prompt, and usually succeed. Because of the location in the shadow of the lighthouse, this is a high profile restaurant. The food is pretty standard... More

For a first timer to Hilton Head I would say you need to do the Salty Dog (been there...got the t-shirt) at least once. We had to wait an hour and a half for our table but we were prepared as we had seen previous reviews. If I came again I would probably either come for lunch or come after... More

We grabbed stills at the bar for lunch before a boat trip. The bartender was extremely friendly and accommodating - making sure that our food was ordered and delivered quickly. The sandwiches ( fish and chicken) were fresh, hot and delicious. Their coleslaw and fries were also top notch. An overall positive experience.

Came here with a group fairly large and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were seated. The food was good but nothing special. The atmosphere on the other hand was very fun. there was live music outside while we waited and their buzzers have enough range to allow shopping while you wait - my wife liked that 'perk'.... More

We went to the Salty Dog because it seemed like "the" place to go and because of everyone and their brother wearing Salty Dog t-shirts, advertisement, hype. We came for lunch and the menu was obviously offered fewer choices than what we wished for. We tried the Low Country Crab Dip served with pita chips (the pita chips were amazing!--dip,... More

It can get crowded and may not be easy to find parking but overall it's worth it. We went for dinner with the kids and really enjoyed it. Very good fish n' chips. The marina and shops are always fun to visit.

We had lunch there, the food was priced more reasonably than I thought it would be, large portions. It was very good. Frozen daiquiri was smooth and reasonably priced as well.

The food was OK and the view was nice. The hush puppies were really good. The staff was friendly. There was a mold smell inside next to the window. They had a band playing outside that was nice. I will definitely visit the marina but probably skip the Salty Dog Cafe.

We went here for lunch. The food was good and the service also. We wondered the gift shops. Had a nice afternoon.

This was the typical chain food. Not good, basic and felt like frozen or premade food heated up. Also ordered Pina Colada which was icy and terrible.
