We bring the very best of Southwestern culture and cuisine home to the Lowcountry. Our menu has been an Islanders" preferred dining spot for over 20 years and with dishes like our famous grouper, to our bone-in cowboy cut black angus ribeye, our outrageous chimichanga to even lobster fajitas, we're sure to have a new favorite waiting for you. From the sounds of the live Ranchero guitar player to the smells rising from our mesquite grill, Santa Fe Cafe is a much welcomed reprieve for the senses. Even when you're outside underneath the stars on our Rooftop Cantina, we've got you covered.

Even though the rest of the menu at this island favorite is exceptional, the Painted Desert Soup is definitely picture worthy. It is a corn & red pepper soup with Mexican cream and mole. Hard to describe so we've attached a picture. Presentation is a strong point at this southwestern... read more

We waited a little too long to make reservations over Memorial Day weekend, and ended up with 8:00 pm seating. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which consisted of about 9 small tables for seating up to four, and a party of 12 in center. That's important, because there was only one waitress for the entire area, and... More

The kids ate every last bite of a shredded beef taco and cheese quesadilla. The hubby and I enjoyed fish tacos and a shrimp and avocado salad, which was very light. The chips and salsa were plentiful and the luxe margarita was the best skinny version I've ever tasted. So good!

Although reservations are required for indoor service, a full menu is available at the bar and outside, which, in pleasant weather is more than fine. Within minutes, we were seated and the food was wonderful.

When I see "upscale" I figure it is going to cost more. It does but it is worth it in this case. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting. The service is very attentive. The food is delicious. We started with their signature soap, the Painted Desert. What a presentation and what a unique taste. I have never had anything... More

Have been coming to Hilton Head for many years but this was our first time here. Until now, Mexican, or Southwestern food left quite a bit to be desired in this low country. HOWEVER we had an amazing experience and dinner on the rooftop last night. Reservations were for 830 because we wanted rooftop. It was definitely worth the wait.... More

We have tried Sante Fe a couple times but I just can not figure out what their theme is. They try to be sort of a TexMex but lacks authenticity ...don't think we will return

We bicycled up to the restaurant at 5:00 pm just as it was opening so we pretty well had the place to ourselves. The restaurant has a welcoming ambiance that I prefer, quiet and subdued. The southwestern style music in the background wasn't too loud and featured acoustic guitars, much to my liking. The service was fast and the food... More
