I loved the outdoor dining. We did wait over an hour to get a table but it was lovely. The kids were able to play cornhole, putt putt, and other games while we waited. They had a nice fenced in yard. Very family friendly. The server was friendly and explained the menu. I can't say that the food was great.... More

Hard or find, but the Backyard is worth the search if you are looking for nicely prepared Low Country fair. The shrimp and grits is delightful and a silky flavorful combination. The shrimp are on the small side and could be grilled, but the grits are the creamy stone ground variety and steal the show. The Perleau was an outstanding... More

Where has this been hiding? A charming bijou restaurant with a lovely backyard. The food was delicious. Best Shrimp & Grits I have ever had. The service was prompt and friendly. I can't wait to return and try more dishes from their menu.

This place is a little difficult to find, and away from the beach, but well worth it. The fried green tomatoes are awesome and their menu goes beyond standard fare with some nice southern interpretations of popular dishes.

I find Hilton Head lacking in quality food establishments. Except for this place. Every dish I've tried has been phenomenal. Backyard could hold its own in any city. In Hilton Head, it has no rivals. Go there for breakfast/brunch. It's the best way to start a day on the island.

This is a place I can't say enough about. Every visit and every dish has been amazing! The bananas foster at brunch is the best I have ever had. The meatloaf sandwich with the moonshine sauce is to die for. The BBQ Benedict; simply delicious! The James Island Benedict was incredible! Huge crab cakes under perfectly poached eggs sitting on... After hearing from a friends about this restaurant we decided to make the trip with three children since we were vacationing in Hilton Head. . It was pouring rain and even though we had to wait to get a table, with little space to do it in due to the rain, the hostess was very attentive and got a things... More

Even in the pouring rain we finally have a place where guests can wait in the backyard. We have a 26 foot square umbrella that has really helped save the day by giving our guests a dry place next to a heater while waiting for a table inside. It also allows the kids a place to stretch their legs instead... More

I have no idea why this is a $$$$ cost rating. It's affordable awesomeness. Can't wait to get back there. Shrimp and grits is great too.

I Love it, we are affordable, yeah! I'm thrilled when guests say that. I certainly prefer to frequent restaurants that are good and affordable so that I can go back. Never any fun to find a great spot, only to find that you can't go back because it was too expensive. Glad to have you regularly. Thanks for all of... More

We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We got there early 5:30 and there already was a wait for inside. We chose to a table in the backyard. The wait staff was wonderful; menu terrific; food and drink awesome, enjoyable live music. Only negative was the location and size of the venue. It was in a... More

We certainly understand how challenging it can be to wait so long to get in a restaurant. Our capacity has actually grown over the last three years, surprisingly. We used to have only a few tables outside, and the part of the restaurant that has the bar in it was not our space at all until a couple of years... More
