Great time at the BOP

We went to the British Open Pub the Friday of the Heritage Golf Tournament on HHI. Best burger I've had locally. And they really know how to make a Perfect Manhattan. Drinks just $5. Service was excellent. Looking forward to going back!

This is a place worth revisiting! It always seems to be packed, and the food is plentiful and delicious. Our party especially liked the Steak and Mushroom Pie and the Fish and Chips. Oh, and there are many beer options. Nice, informal, inexpensive.

Visited HHI recently and found myself at the British Open Pub while my wife was next door at a spa. What a great time visiting with the bartender "Sweeter". When my wife finished she joined me and we both had a very pleasant time with Sweeter as our host. Great sense of humor. Although we did not eat, as we... More

We had lunch here and really liked it. The burger was huge, hand-made and perfectly cooked, the fish and chips were authentic, and the soup and sandwich was so good that my daughter had a second cup of the homemade chicken noodle soup. The lobster salad was just OK, because the remoulade sauce, was mayonnaise. 20 oz. pints = bonus!

The atmosphere of this place is the same as it's name, mainly British. The fish and chips are very good as well as the grouper sandwich. You must save room for the desserts! The hot apple pie is exceptional. My wife liked the bread pudding. Golf on every TV made for a fun early dinner.

We come here every year for golf and have dinner at his pub at least once. This year the place was busy but not crowded, they gave us a reservation for 6pm for 8 of us. Dinner was served quickly with the waiter impressively remembering all our orders without writing anything down. They have a good beer selection and wine... More

We were surprised on a Thursday evening to have a 20 minute wait for an inside table. ( had no reservation) But we were able to get served on the patio out front and the weather for pleasant. Fish and Chips (appetizers size) was very good and plenty. I will return next time I'm on HHI.

This was some of the best food during our week in Hilton Head Island. Service and food are awesome and priced right. My chicken pot pie had a LOT of chicken breast with some peas and carrots. The outstanding part was the freshly prepared creamy dreamy sauce! I cleaned my plate and the delicious side salad. My husband had the... More

My husband and I adore English pubs so we made it a point to stop in at least once during our stay on HHI. They offer many of the well-known UK pub offerings, but I made a mistake of going with an island favorite and ordered the lobster roll. Please do not follow my example. The lobster was tasteless and... More
