Wow, what a fantastic meal with great presentation. And also in a beatiful area - Shelter Cove. Very nice outdoor seating, too. Love the atmosphere.

The menu is limited but complete. We ate outside with a view of the harbor. They've got heaters for chilly evenings and we were very comfortable throughout. Most of us had the Jumbo Shrimp dinner which was so good I wished I could order another one for dessert. Service was excellently delivered by a pleasant young Russian lady.
No downside....

Walked over from our Villa on a cold, wet, windy day. Definitely wanted comfort food. Wow...were we in luck. Place was busy so we had a short wait at the bar. I'd recommend reservations since its quite small when outdoor dining is not practical. Super garlicy creamy escargot in puff pastry. Wife got their salmon which was perfectly cooked &...

Enjoyed dinner at restaurant along the harbor at Shelter Cove...we decided to eat outdoors to catch more of the sunset. Inside more like a posh French restaurant with linen tablecloths, cutlery, beautiful piano music...We felt like being outside for out last night on vacation so we realized that it would be more casual. Attentive waitress took drink orders...cold martini for...

Four of us went for a late dinner and we all head excellent entrees, but the roasted pepper soup was amazing ... Delicately spiced and rich arome of fresh peppers, yummm. The service was efficient, and knowledgable. Wines were reasonably priced. Deserts were rich and nicely presented. If we had more time here, we would go back. Maybe next year.
This was our 3rd or 4th time at Bistro 17 and everyone in our party of 6 was disappointed. The Beef Bourguignon was overly seasoned, unusually spicy and lacked meat. We were there on a Monday night and felt it had been left over from the weekend. Mussels were good in a nice broth. Crab cakes were a bit crusty...

In March 2013, we enjoyed TWO dinners at Bistro 17 during our one week stay in Hilton Head! The interior is small and can seem a bit crowded and noisy and the patio area has an excellent view of Shelter Cove.
The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional.
We also enjoyed listening to a piano player...

I’ve wanted to try Bistro 17 for several years when we’ve visited Hilton Head, but we have so may favorite restaurants there, it’s been hard to fit in. This year we finally ate there, and what a great experience!
The restaurant has a nice view of the Shelter Cove Marina. We had hoped to sit outside on the terrace. The...

fantastic food, spectacular service...an entirely excellent evening. We will definitely be back again and again. The appetizer, salad and entree were outstanding.
