We had a very enjoyable meal at the Black Marlin, but it's evident the moment you enter the premises this restaurant is geared toward the tourist trade (evidenced by the marketing of Black Marlin merchandise). The menu is extensive and dishes are well-prepared (I had the blackened local grouper--very good...and try their chowder--excellent!!). During the height of the tourist season,... More

very good place to finish our vacation. I got stuff shrimp - tasty but only 6. Jeff got a mix - oysters rockerfeller (great), stuffed shrimp, mahi mahi, Leah got chicken tacos, Evan got low country mix - by far best value - snow crab, clams, mussels, and 1/2 lobster tail. Appetizer of sushi nachos - spicy tuna so good!

Pros: Good setting and environment. Good service. This restaurant has a good setting both inside and out. The outside is very family friendly and casual. The inside is the opposite with dim lighting and candle light. Cons: The food is average at best. I had shrimp, oysters, and scallops....it was very underwhelming. My wife had low country boil, which included... More

When in Hilton Head, you must try this restaurant if you enjoy seafood! Beautifully decorated inside and the outdoor dining is very large and very near the water/marshland. We had great service and the best appetizer we've ever tried. It was the chilled peel & eat shrimp. Perfectly seasoned! I enjoyed the evening's special & my husband had a steak.... More

We went at lunch and even sat outside - it was hot but the service was pretty good and the food was excellent. We had at our table of four - fried shrimp, wings, fried grouper sandwich and grilled group sandwich. Youngest son is 15 - picky eater - he really enjoyed it. Service was attentive - spotless restrooms.

This was our first trip to Hilton Head Island and our first time in Black Marlin. There was a long wait to sit inside(we now see why it's so popular) so we sat outside. It was hot but there were fans outside and we had one of the best waitresses at any restuarant we have EVER eaten at. Her Name... More

With family all around and perfect weather, we enjoyed one of our best meals during our vacation. I had the Lobster Bake that included a whole lobster, clams, mussels, corn on the cob, redskin potatoes and smoked sausage. All yummy! my husband had the Broiled Seafood Medley and loved it all. If the weather is good, try to sit outside... More
