My Favorite Spot

Sass is one of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Greenville. It's ambiance makes it a great romantic stop for me and my husband. The girls and I go there a lot for happy hour and have no problem eating at the bar. The pork bites, or the nachos are staples at our table typically. Sassafras also... read more

Sassafras is one of our favorite restaurants in Greenville. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food is so tasty! I highly recommend the pork and fillet, two of my favorite entrées on the menu. I've never had a bad experience here.

My husband and I go here as a couple and with friends. I've also done many business dinners here. I always know clients and co-workers will be taken care of. The food has always been great and the service awesome. They always have nice specials if you want to deviate from the normal menu. Recently the menu has been updated... More

We arranged to meet out of town friends at Sassafras and they were charmed. The food is creative yet still has the best of plain southern food. There is decent she crab soup, and as a northerner, it is one of the rare places I enjoy the use of grits to enhance some dishes. The venue is attractive, with the... More

I wish i could give a 3.5 for good, but not very good. Liked most of what i had, though everything was fried and/or heavy- bacon/meatloaf sliders, for instance. These were great, actually, but everything else was just good, and heavy. The entire catfish plate with sweet potato fries and some other fried thing was deep fried with the exception... More

A lovely venue with an interior of old wood and brick. The bar is separate from dining area so the low noise level makes it ideal for conversation. Numerous choices of traditional "southern" dishes prepared in unique ways. My only complaint was that the Parmesan Risotto was not as creamy as I had hoped. Great wine choices available. Will go... Sassafras is fantastic! I really enjoyed the Salmon and Lump Blue Crab! The grits were a bit salty for my taste, but overall I loved the pairing. The fried oysters were great. Would definitely love to visit again!

We had 11 I our party and the waiter was outstanding and accommodating. Highly recommend 1/2 price wine Wednesday! The small she crab soup was a large bowl and was delicious with ample crab meat and a touch of liquor as it should be. The pimento cheese filet was a big hit. We will definitely return there.

It is very dark in here if you are going for a group dinner, but the food is really good. The steaks are probably what they do best out of everything I have had on the menu. I have come for dinner or parties. Sometimes the food is a little over-salted, but other times it is amazing.

Tucked away on the plaza off Main Street near the Mast General Store you can find a charming eclectic southern comfort food style restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and appropriately themed. The lighting level was poor at our table so had some difficulty viewing the menu. Our server was very good, attentive, and helpful since she had obviously... More
