Excellent food, great service

Excellent Southern food. Those at our table tried the meatloaf, the rib eye and the fried chicken (kind of like a take on cordon bleu). Appetizers included the blue crab nachos and hot and spicy fried pork. All were amazing. Definitely give the blue crab nachos a try. Truly delicious. Service is... read more

We have been here several times and so happy it survived all the construction in downtown Greenville. Our son's wedding rehearsal dinner was here and we had an awesome time. The menu has both traditional and more quirky items...something for everyone.

Went here for a work dinner at Christmas. One of the best restaurants we have been to in the area. The food was amazing and had a southern twist. The she crab soup had a strong "fish" flavor but wasn't bad - everything else was amazing. The filet with pimento cheese actually worked well together. I have to say that... More

We lucked out on a fantastic parking spot and the location of the restaurant couldn't be better. We had a seat outside and were serenaded by a beautiful cellist. Food was fantastic, and I would recommend the nachos! Super rich, but great flavor!

My wife and I love sassafras. This visit we decided to go with salads and appetizers. She had the small southern salad and I had a small Caesar. Each are plenty big enough. I have not had a large and probably could not finish it if I ordered. Each salad was fantastic. I had the spicy pork tenderloin app and... More

Odd things, I know, to included in a review title for a restaurant. In this case, it played a big part in not giving this establishment an excellent rating. We were dining here on a recent Saturday night with 3 other couples. A reservation was made several weeks ago. Our table was ready when we arrived. They even let early... More

First time here while traveling on business. The service and food were top notch. Our waiter was attentive without being overly attentive and was knowledgable on all of the menu items. Our table started with the steak and Gorgonzola nachos which were fantastic. For my main course I chose the beef tips on a recommendation from our waiter and he... More

Sorry, but I think I went on a bad day or to the wrong restaurant. I went on November 15, 2015 the day before thanksgiving. Had never been here, but I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews and the pictures. I do give it 4 stars for the ambiance of the place inside: brick walls, tables... More

We have visited sassafras on numerous occasions. It has turned into our favorite. This time around we decided to go with multiple apps for our meal. The spicy pork is the best! The service is always great. My wife loves the bar drinks and we always enjoy our visit. Will return

We were there on Halloween night. Some of the best low country cuisine we have ever had and we lived in Charleston for years. We started with she crab soup and pimento cheese fondue with hand cut potatoe chips. Entrees were crab cakes and rib eye topped with mushroom bacon tomato Parmesan salad. The she crab soup and the crab... More
