I love downtown Greenville, SC. Outside you can see the river and currently the Christmas decorations. The shrimp and grits were very tasty. The ambiance is pleasant and the restaurant is well-lighted. It was however a bit noisy. The staff was friendly and apologetic for delays in getting cream and spoons for our coffee. Service was delayed more than once... More

We went to High Cotton the other night with another couple. Had not been there for about 2 years as we were not big fans. But the buzz about the 'new chef' was good so we gave it a try. We were very happy we did. (Truth is we would give 4 and 1/2 stars if we could - read... More

Enjoying a day downtown Greenville contributing to the economy, we took time to stop at High Cotton for afternoon cocktails. My wife asked for a coffee drink much like an Irish Coffee and Michael, the bartender, asked if he might make her a house specialty coffee to which she agreed. It was pretty darned good. I opted for some white... More

Great pre-show meal with friends. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped guide us through a robust and adventurous menu. We had great venison, some delicious lamb and a perfectly cooked grouper. The sides were all perfectly matched with the proteins - again all well cooked and so very tasty. Desserts topped off a fab meal. The waitress... More

We sat at a window table over looking the Reedy River on a wintery weekend morning for brunch. It was a great place to show off the wonders and joys of Greenville. Our guests could watch people strolling down the street, water fowl playing on the river and the large window setting shows off the sky. Our guests enjoyed watching... More

★☆☆☆☆ I give High Cotton a 3 star review because the people were friendly and the resturant was nice. The free valet parking had a huge play in it too. It's ONLY 3 stars because I made a reservation 2 days in advance for a window seat. It was supposed to be a romantic night between my loved one and... More

Having eaten at High Cotton in Charleston we decide to try the Greenville store as we were in town for the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert. We arrived a few minutes early and had a cocktail at the bar. The drink was a Spicy Chihuahua and was made with Tequila, St. Germain, Grapefruit Bitters and something else. It was delicious. When... We were going there prior to going to the peace center right across the river. We arrived at happy hour and I would say this is kne of the best in Greenville. Specialty drinks are $5 , house wine and Stella were $4 and beer was $3. That's hard to beat for such a great location. When we sat for... More

On an extended stay in Greenville, we visited nearly every restaurant in downtown Greenville and this was our favorite. We ate brunch here once and dinner too many times to count over a two month period. Everything we tried was very good to excellent with everything possible sourced from SC. Many of the vegetables we had at the restaurant were... More

We were celebrating our anniversary in Greenville. This was our first time visiting this city and many restaurants were recommended. We ate at 4 fine dining restaurants as well as a couple of casual places. Although service at every place we ate was excellent, the service at this restaurant far exceeded that of any of the others. Our server Cornelius... More
