I don't understand the hype this place gets. After hearing so much about it I was excited to go. Make sure to bring cash as they don't accept credit or debit cards. (We didn't know before going, and the guy at the counter was VERY rude about it.) As for the food itself, it is cheap (a good thing) and... More

Pita house is top notch at lunch, but it never seems to taste fresh at dinner time. I recommend only going during lunch. Cash only!

not fancy & no frills order-at-counter service! BUT AMAZING, none the less! More than just an outstanding Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant... it is a compact Middle Eastern gourmet grocery & bakery as well. Owners are helpful & congenial (UNLESS you are TRIFLING & IMPATIENT)... accustomed to giving out samples of pastries to browsing customers (the baklava is crunchy-sweet delicious decadence in... My entire family loves this restaurant and with 4 kids that alone is reason to go. The food is fresh and the staff is super friendly. We go here at least 3 times a month.

Most of the time, I go to a restaurant to eat. Not to be entertained or impressed or even necessarily comfortable. Pita House is a low key, budget place with stryfoam plates and plastic utensils and paper napkins. You order at the counter and either take the food with you or sit at one ofmthe small, plain tables and bus... More

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years. Though I no longer live in Greenville, I still try to eat here a few times a year. The felafel is the best I've ever had and I also love the hummus and Chicken Shwarma. My favorite is the Middle East Plate which has a little of everything. There... More

Needed some ethnic food items that I could not find in the local s/m or the organic stores. Was told that they had a small grocery in the back (true and though not big or extensive, it has everything that you cannot find elsewhere from cheeses to olive oils to Fyllo dough, Tahini, beans, coffee, olives and freshly baked pita... This is only available from 5pm until closing This is my all time favorite Some say that the beef kabab at Habiba (another mediteranean restaurant along Haywood Rd) is great but I prefer the way this is marinated and the rice that comes with it is really good. I also love the baba gannouge, hummos and falafel. The beef shawarma... More
