Choosing Soby's for a reunion of fraternity brothers and wives was perfect... They seated us at a long table upstairs so we wouldn't disrupt other diners (although this group has calmed down a whole bunch over the last 50 years!), and they assigned Scott to our table. He was the best waiter ever and added a lot to our experience.... More

We dined for dinner twice on the same trip because it is conveniently located to 3 hotels, good food and reasonably priced. The first night we sat at table 302 which gave us a birds eye view into the kitchen to watch the action. We enjoyed the bacon wrapped tenderloin and steak. The other meal wasn't as memorable, we had... More

This place is good all around- good location, very nice atmosphere, and great food- all at reasonable prices. She crab soup, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp & grits were all excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. This is a must go place in Greenville

Six of us from out of town ate a Soby's on a busy Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The reservation was made for 7:30 and our table opened up just a few minutes after our arrival. Being in a "happening", crowded area of downtown, the valet parking was great. The service was excellent and although we had... More

Good food in a great atmosphere. Enjoyed overlooking the kitchen. Suggest you make a reservation. Like everything in downtown Greenville ... parking is a problem.

Nice setting in downtown. Has been in location for the past 17 years and it shows by the following they have. Waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. Food was excellent with the fried green tomatoes outstanding.

Liked this place. Food was very good. The hostess stand was a mess. Stood there for 3-4 minutes without so much as a hello or a nod of welcome. But, when we finally got to a table, our waiter was fantastic. Good recommendations and was very accommodating on a special request. If they fixed the seating and welcome situation, I'd... More

This is a very popular restaurant in Greenville, but it is very overpriced, the wait staff strongly pushes expensive wines, appetizers and other extras, and the food is extremely salty, greasy and the portions of vegetables are miniscule. Unimpressive.

We were seated in the patio area under the beautiful lighted trees and overlooking Main Street. Our waiter, Hector, was knowledgeable and very attentive. He was constantly refilling water glasses and checking on us. The wine list is extensive and reasonable, and the food choices are varied. We had the bacon mac and cheese as an appetizer and it would... More

I made reservations for 5PM, only choice, through Open Table which is so convenient. Sobys has valet parking which is greatly appreciated b/c finding a parking place downtown can be challenging. Because this was our first time at Sobys we asked our server to explain the menu. She was knowledgeable and helpful. My spouse ordered Caesar salad, pork chop with... More
