Once you move beyond the old pizza hut location - this restaurant is amazing. We started with drinks that were right on point with the perfect balance of flavors. I had a Sun 'Shine - which had shine, pineapple, and creme de violette - it had a pretty purple blue shade and it was super tasty. The manpanion had a... More

After mixed reviews from friends, we decided to try The Owl for ourselves. We knew about the lack of ambience, etc, but wanted to try the innovative cuisine and make our own assessment. We started with a cocktail each and split the beet and goat cheese salad. It was a good balance of the room temp beets, the crumbled chèvre,... More

If you like interesting food, beautifully prepared, and don't mind a total lack of ambiance, this is the place for you. A dark former Pizza Hut that looks and (sort of) feels pretty precisely like its former self, it nevertheless has the most interesting food in Greenville--and we've eaten most everywhere. I really prefer to go downtown, but Owl isn't... More

So the building is nondescript, unobtrusive. You walk in not expecting all that much as the space inside is as decorated as the exterior. However once inside you are met with an open space that allows the bartenders (who craft their own bitters and have the finest libations in the area) and chefs to allow their talent speak for itself.... We had heard about The Owl from friends of ours who eat there regularly. We had also ridden by the restaurant and were a little put off by the plain, recycled look of the restaurant. However, when we got there, we were pleasantly surprised. The drink menu is as eclectic as you can find, full of fresh and unique flavors... More

Outstanding food. Innovative dishes & drinks. Ugly building hiding a culinary gem. Warning: plates are small and fairly inexpensive prices so if you are hungry will wants to order more than one plate.

Pretentious is the best description. No signage- you just have to figure it out. After you figure the whole what door to use, then you have to step over a moat of water coming off their cooler. The other door was better. I asked for iced tea the waitress says "we don't do tea". Pretentious. The dinner menu was creative-... More

First, what works. Food lovingly conceived, prepared and presented. Very innovative food. BUT, won't go back. What does not work? Surly, horrendous service. Any questions were answered by repeating ingredients. Could not answer the most basic questions on beers. And, acted as if he hated being there. The atmosphere in the old Pizza Hut was industrial at best. Location is... More

Who in their right mind opens up a boutique "foodie" restaurant in an old Pizza Hut on a depressed stretch of road in a "B" market? Evidently, somebody who wants nothing more than to make this food however he can! We were in town from Atlanta for one night only, and we were completely thrilled with this place. We just... More

I enjoyed my dinner at the Owl. When I describe it as indescribable, I mean exactly that. You wouldn't expect the shell of a Pizza Hut to have such great food. If I hadn't heard so much about it, I would never have gone there, or let alone seen it. Every part of the meal was excellent. We had the... More
