This dark bar was perfect for our rainy visit to Greenville. Excellent service by the bartender who talked us through the drafts. Have heard the food is good but we just drank.
I was travelling to Greenville SC on business and my hotel suggested Trappe Door for a late dinner. I enjoy good Belgian Beer/Ale and food, so I gave it a try. Selection of Beer/Ale was excellent! The staff are very well versed and made a great suggestion. Service was great! I had the Flemish Beef stew which had a wonderful... More
Went in for dinner on a Saturday night after a day of shopping. Found it thru my UrbanSpoon app. No reservation or anything, walked right in and got a table. It is down in a little hole though. We have been to both the restaurants on either side several times and have literally never noticed this place. We started out... More
Entree was small size, price was too expensive. Waiter was not professional, no beer menu. Very little bread when requested. Will not return.
Stopped in to this hard to find back door entrance (part of the intrigue) local tavern/eating establishment and much to our surprise we had a fabulous lunch. We ordered the fried shrimp sandwich and fries. Our mouthes began watering immediately upon our teeth sinking into the perfectly toasted hoagie roll containing large, plump, perfectly battered and fried juicy shrimp (at... More
We stopped in early around 330 for lunch/dinner and we had the place almost to ourselves. Our server was very nice and helpful, he asked me what kind of beer I liked and offered me free samples without me even asking for them. They have a great beer selection, we had the crab and blue cheese dip for an appetizer... More
The day was slightly warmer and the wind had died down so we decided ton drive down the mountain from Asheville to take advantage of their 4 degree warmer weather. The trip down was simple, thanks to our Garmin but things started to go wrong when we reached Downtown Greenville, SC. First, there was no available parking for several blocks... More
Trappe Door is one of my favorites in Greenville. The past few times I have been on the weekend-there has been an 1 1/2-2 hr wait-so make sure you get reservations! I get the duck every time I go-hands down the best duck I have ever had. I am not a big beer drinker, but I enjoy their wine. They... More
We loved the Trapp Door in Greenville. The bartender was excellent and offered many suggestions and told us about the beers they offered. We had drinks at the bar the first day, but noticed how wonderful the food looked as it was being served. We decided to come back the next day for lunch and were very happy we did.... More
After spending 4 months living in Belgium, I was eager upon returning to the States to find an excellent Belgian restaurant. Luckily I didn't have to look far - Trappe Door in downtown Greenville has everything you could want, including moules frites and a great selection of Belgian beer (try the Delirium Tremens!). The seafood waterzooi is particularly good.
