Got stuck here during a rain brief rainstorm. The gelato was very good and lived up to the great reviews. The wind had blown over all the tables outside and an employee had to go out and get soaked to secure them as did we on the way back to the hotel. Recommended for a quick dessert.

A little pricey, but so good! I love the way they put the second scoop on the side - very artsy! I had an almond-flavored and a chocolate the first day and a hazelnut with velvet chocolate the second day. (Can you see a pattern here?) The velvet chocolate was to die for - it really was "velvety" with bits... More

The salads (Nancy's Pair & Carpa) are so good they figuratively lowered the temperature from 95 to a cool 82. The roasted tomato and eggplant soup w/ feta, a must do! Great lunch spot in a wonderful downtown.

Gelato is always pricey. If you can get over that then make them your choice downtown. Really cool sidewalk seating and great location. They have a really cool food menu as well, but we've never made it back to eat there.....probably because if I'm in that area for food I'd select wings or pizza instead (next to Barleys, Wild Wings... Yes, the huge variety of gelato is a real draw, but let's not forget, this gem of a place serves superb lunches. It is family-owned and run and the staff gives you the impression that you are now a welcome part of the family. The cafe is small with a menu to match, but everything is freshly prepared and delicious.... More

I've gone to Luna Rosa several times for the amazing gelato, but it has always been in the evening. Went at lunch and who knew??? Fantastic, homemade soup, pizza and more. Youv'e got to try the roasted tomato and eggplant bisque and panini. Can't wait to go back for the baked ziti quattro formaggi. Then cool, refreshing gelato!

Closest gelato to the real thing in Italy. Great selection of flavors. They need to open another location out on Woodruff Road or Five Forks/Simpsonville.

I've been living in Shanghai for almost three years, but I still miss Luna Rosa delicious gelato! Despite Shanghai being a huge city, chock-full of restaurants and cafes, I haven't found a place yet that could rival Luna Rosa's gelato! I grew up in Italy and Luna Rosa is by far one of the best gelatos I ever had in... More

This place was set up just like the Italian gelato places I have visited. You go in and pick a size and pay (they take credit cards), and then pick your flavors. I want to go back and try the food and coffee. We just tried the gelato, but that was outstanding. I had the lemon and the birthday cake... More

a. Cash register worker was completely inexperienced and very difficult to work with. b. Gelato servers were great. Very friendly, patient and personable. c. Gelato was average. I had three flavors all of which were a tier down from Talenti. d. Very crowded and popular spot.
