My wife and I make sure we dine at the Gulfstream Cafe each time we visit the Surfside/ Garden City area. Our next door neighbor recommended it approximately 7 years ago.Since then we have eaten there at least 5 times. Many times taking family and friends. No one has ever been dissatisfied with their meal. Our last visit was on... More

Bar not staffed for Friday night crowd. Long wait for outside table. Service only okay. Food okay plus. Setting overlooking marsh is excellent - rest of place doesn't match up!

Visited on a Saturday night in late September. Slow season and kind of out of the way but still crowded, which we took as a good sign. Menu wasn't very extensive but the food, service, and atmosphere were great. Would recommend.

We have had a favorite sea food restaurant for the past 15 years just down the road across the bridge from the gulf stream. But we now have a new favorite. We went two times in Sept. 2014 food was great and service was also great ! Thanks Gulf Stream

I love good, freshly prepared seafood and this place nailed it. A good friend of mine suggested we head here before he returned to NJ, for a quiet dinner along the water. He made reservations and that was the first of many good decisions as the place was packed. We waited a few minutes in the bar on the top... More

This was our 2nd visit. We called to ask about whether they had an oyster feast and the woman said NO. Then we got there and found printed cards on the table advertising the oyster feast that we missed! We were there on a Friday night and it was packed. Our server was great, but the food wasn't as good... More

Hi, I can definitely see how this is frustrating. Our Oyster Roasts run every Thursday in September and October, and then again in March and April. Thank you for joining us, I hope you can make it to the event in the near future! More

I ate here with my family on Sept. 1st and it was a very bad experience. There was no soap in the rest room and when we told the hostess about this she laughed. The service was really bad and we were not given water for 45 minutes and could never get catsup for the steak until it was cold.... More

Hi Linda, Not receiving the proper condiments is frustrating. I'm sorry to hear you didn't feel well cared for. I can give my word, this sounds like an isolated incident that has since been handled. Thanks again for the feedback! More

Can't miss having a great meal for a reasonable price when you arrive in time for the early bird specials. Food is excellently prepared, and servers are great. Sunset is a bonus if you dine before time changes in the spring.

Randy, our server, was great as he catered to our needs. The food was delish and large portions. Several of us had to-go boxes. My salmon portobello was tender, juicy, flakey, rich and the green beans the best I've had outside my own kitchen. Eleven of us enjoyed the beautiful marsh setting, and the hospitality of this great establishment! We... More
