Good food in a relaxed atmosphere

We stopped by for a late dinner after hanging on the beach all day. I had the shrimp and scallop fried dinner, and my wife had the crab cake sandwich. The shrimp and scallops were good. They were lightly breaded and tasted fresh. My wife said the crab cake sandwich was great as well. We both had... read more

We went to this place twice while on our trip at the end of March. The servers are fast and friendly, and the seafood was very good. We loved the calamari and crawdads (or "mud bugs" they were called). Only complaint was that they were out of the mud bugs the second time we went. Definitely will visit again on... More

My husband and I found this place while walking at the pier. The delicious smell drew us in! We were there for lunch and sat outside on their deck. The shade overhead made it nice! We ordered a bucket of their fresh, local steamed oysters and she crab soup! Both were delicious! We were very happy with our meal!

Food was mediocre at best. Heavily breaded calamari should never happen! Bevs I would rate at best a C-.... Rude wait staff 'defending' the bevs by saying ' I've been a bartender for over 20 years....' I will not return and I would NOT recommend this place. Sorry...

This lovely restaurant by the pier was full of wonderful surprises. We started off by having one of their special cocktails made with lemonade and it was very tasty. I got the shrimp basket and the shrimp were lightly battered, delicious and so fresh. The French fries were seasoned with a special seasoning and were the best I had while... More

When my daughter and son-in-law came for their first visit to Charleston, I knew I had to take them to this lovely little restaurant right on the pier. We sat outside with the sound of the surf as accompaniment to an excellent meal. Fast friendly service made the meal even better.

Specializes in fresh, local unfrozen seafood and daily specials include interesting ways of preparing it. Our age 7 and 4 grandchildren were occupied with crayons and drawing paper, and happily tolerated when they started to wander. Location at head of the fishing pier is spectacular. We had been hesitant to visit on the basis of several indifferent reviews but we... More

I was a tad dubious of this place after reading some of the lackluster reviews, not to mention the fact that no one from our hotel mentioned it even though it is right next door. We enjoyed our first trip so much that we went back for a second dinner! I highly recommend the peel and eat shrimp and the... More

A must in Folly Beach: She Crab soup from Locklears - very rich and full. Lovely taste. One of the nicest crap soups that I have ever eaten. If you eat in the view is just wonderful - inside and outside right over the beach. The shrimp and crab dip was very good and nice portion for 2 people. We... More

Nice, casual restaurant on the pier. The fried shrimp and the burger were good, but make sure you ask for the divine, house-made dill tartar sauce with whatever you get....it is absolutely fabulous. Service was very good, even though it was crowded. I would go back, if only for the tartar sauce!
