Must visit!

Southern hops is a nice little microbrewery in Florence that also is a restaurant and bar. I am a big fan of the beer they brew but they also offer a huge variety of other beer and a full bar. The food is great (their baked wings rock!). They use local ingredients and nothing is fried in their... read more

Great food all around. .. awesome IPA beer... even better they allow dogs, and bring a nice bowl of cool water out to your dog. What a great place to stop.

The owner at Southern Hops does not believe in fryers. As a past restauranter myself I can completely understand the mess and hassle it can create a kitchen. However, the menu is nowhere near boring. The sides are all homemade and authentic. You have to try their pretzels. Of course- I would be remiss if I did not comment on... More

I recently decided to stop into this place after many halfway gas ups between Virginia Beach and Jacksonville, FL. I made sure to read a few reviews before heeding into this place and my review started out with 3 stars just as with every place i visit. After walking in and deciding to sit up at the bar it was... My husband and I were driving to Charleston from upstate NY to pick up our daughter from college. On May 4th we were staying at the Holiday Inn Express. The desk clerk recommended this restaurant and arranged for us to be driven from the hotel! We were met by James, the brewmaster and one of the owners. He picked us... More

Enjoyed my visit to Southern Hops. I started with their 4 house brew flight. This is fairly priced and a good sampling of a variety of styles. It appeared there were at least 22 brews on tap as well as a good selection of bottles. Opted for a pizza for dinner and you should be aware that the food offerings... More

Great and friendly. We enjoyed our flights of beer as well as our discussion with the Brewmaster. Our lunch was terrific. We had the smoking BLT (jalapeño bacon) and pimento cheese sandwiches. Will return when in the area.

Buy local, eat local. This is a great place for locals and out-of-towners alike. Great beer selection of their home brews as well as across the world. No fryer here - and almost everything is house made. Excellent night out, happy hour or lunch. And when the weather is nice, check out the beer garden!

First time here. The Red Rooster is a great beer. Stay away from the ham and cheese. All bread. 3 thin sheets of ham. Very disappointed. The wings were some of the best I have ever had.

Stopped here prior to going to the hotel on a stopover on our way to Florida. Moderate crowd for a Friday, the night after Christmas. The place has a wide open floor in the restaurant area and a good sized bar area. We ordered a couple beers for the parents, a lemonade for one of the kids, naked wings, pork... More
