If not for several locals recommending Whaley's we would not have stopped. From the outside, it looks a bit run down. On the inside, it's very nice, friendly and full of local color. We had the shrimp filled BLT, Crab Cake sandwich and Key Lime Pie. All were very good. We might even go back for dinner one night. Definitely... More

Ive been eating at Whaley's for a long time. We own a house on the beach so I guess I can be called a regular. The range of reviews on this establishment--from excellent to awful--is a little unusual for Trip Advisor but after reading many of them think they are all accurate. First, Whaley's gets crowded during the summer and... More

Joey was my favorite, but George has all the news new and old. The food is always consistent. The locals around the bar tolerant and knowledgable.

We ate at Whaley's twice while we at Edisto and I enjoyed both meals. I had the prime rib sandwich on one night and it was very tender and good. The other meal was their dinner salad and I added a crab cake on top. It was by far one of the best crab cakes ever. Lots of lump crab... More

Love Whaleys!!! We recently moved to the island and hands down Whaley is our favorite place to eat! My favorite is the flounder fried crispy and always so fresh! The crab cakes are also a favorite. My husband loves the fried shrimp. There is also a spectacular appetizer ,a black bean and jack cheese wonton that is delicious!! The service... More

This is a small converted gas station of a restaurant (with a small bar which is attended, the claim goes, by the oldest bartender still working in the US). True or not story on the bartender, the food is very well prepared and the service is friendly and top notch. We ate the "best seller" roast beef sandwich au jus... More

Okay, I don't eat Fried foods, but had to try some items and so the four of us split the crab cakes, fried shrimp, sushi tuna nachos , fried pork chop with garlic butter and raw fries <chips>. It was mouth watering delicious with great flavor. I need to exercise for weeks, but it was worth every bite.

Went to Whaley's for dinner last night. Shrimp and grits $19.. Grits were runny like soup and the portion of grits was small. Shrimp was very good. Mussels appetizer consisted of 12 small mussels in a NOT good wine sauce with crusty bread which was WHITE TOAST! (SHAME, SHAME) Cost $13. With a soda and a beer came to $45... More

The food was great. My husband had the firefly flounder, which was awesome. I had the crab legs, which were also great. My kids had chicken toes and fries, which they all loved but the servings were a little small. We all had cheesecake and the bananas foster cheesecake was fabulous! Our server was a little slow with the refills... More
