We spent the afternoon walking, the beach and decided to try whaleys for dinner. Glad we did. My husband wanted a boil pot and theirs did not disappoint. He was a happy camper. I got the scallops. Could have gotten them broiled and been "good" but, and the very friendly waiter agreed, I am on vacation and we had just walked... More

This restaurant is an Edisto classic. Very laid back and eclectic place. We had a nice relaxing lunch starting with the hunk of fried pepper jack cheese followed by a crab cake sandwich and tropical burger. Both very good. We usually eat here at least once everytime we come to Edisto.

Whaley's became our favorite hang out for a week long trip to Edisto! While walking one night, a Mr. Rice suggested trying Whaley's for dinner, as he said, everything's good! Yes. Flounder, crab cakes, shrimp, shrimp and crab--even the sushi nachos. My only regret is I missed fish taco night! Maybe sometime?!

Online info states they are open at 11:30 am on Sundays...not this Sunday apparently. We walked in amd were informed very rudely that they don't serve lunch on Sundays. Well they did last year and they should update their online info if their serving hours have changed. Besides the rudeness, the inside smells like sewer. We ate outside last year... More

We wish to acknowledge old fashion values and the character of this establishment. At the fault of no one, just a simple matter of the oder slip getting stuck behind another order slip, our meal was delayed. Our waiter was sincerely apologic and informed us our entire meal would be comped. We did not feel at all put out by... More

Told by my barber about the pork chop sandwich; it did not disappoint! Daughter had the prime rib sandwich, which was also delicious. Fries were also very good. Interesting menu. Place is a converted old gas station. Sat outside; it was lovely.

The restaurant was recommended by family so we were all excited to go there. When we arrived I immediately noticed the place was a typical run down dive establishment. Very dirty with mix matched table and chairs. I ordered the wings which were overpriced but I don't care much for seafood so I was limited to my choices. The wings... More

My husband & I were camping @ Edisto Island State Park Campgrounds. We were checking out the island on a rainy night when we couldn't have a campfire. We found this little restaurant with friendly staff and good food. We had a Palmetto beer, from the Charleston Brewery and enjoyed a nice quick dinner. I had the scallops ($25) and... More

We visited Whaleys this past weekend and really enjoyed our meal. This is a dive, but the seafood was some of the best we had all weekend. I rated a 5 because they have the best fried scallops. All 4 of us tried and love them. The crab cake and fried flounder was also good. If you like dives and... More
