The crab and shrimp bisque was too salty to consume, the fried pepper jack cheese was so overdone they brought us fried shells of batter and acted like it wasn't our problem when we complained. Drinks were weak, fries were soggy, and baskets were lacking. Bad attitudes and poor service. Will NEVER be back and will NEVER recommend. This is... More

Whaleys is a home away from home. It doesn't get much more Edisto than this. Laid back attitudes, friendly service and always, always, always DELECTABLE food!

I guess ... in the city, restaurants would pay big money to decorate their store like Whaley's .... rustic, old charm. The food was very good. In fact, we have eaten at Whaley's twice. Prices were normal for Edisto, The food was good. It's not downtown Charleston food. It's Edisto .... good enough not to want to drive to Charleston... More

Whaley's isn't much to look at, in fact it used to be a filling station and general store. But inside you'll find an old fashioned beach restaurant with excellent seafood. We went early in the evening and there were a number of families with children which only added to the casual atmosphere. If you're looking for a casual seafood restaurant... More

My husband and I always come here on our anniversary and are never disappointed. Sit outside as the air is always cool and fresh. The boiled seafood pots are great. Can't wait to see what they do with a restaurant on the Pavilion.

We usually go for lunch and always have a good time. Our special waitress, Miss Elie, seems to be smiling whenever we are there. It is a VERY laid back kind of place, so don't expect a fancy place. But if you are looking for a fun place to eat, you will like Whaleys.

This was featured on a nationally recognized network as being a fantastic restaurant for local cuisine. The fact is we waited for over an hour to be seated and no one even apologized. The restaurant itself is dirty and crowded. The food is OVERPRICED AND OVERRATED. I could have easily made a better dinner. We love Edisto and have visited... More

We ate at Whaleys on our last day on Edisto and I'd have to say it was a great conclusion to our trip! Our service was excellent- our waitor (wearing an open top golf hat) was very personable and did a great job pleasing our large party. He was very familiar with the island and genuinely loved Whaleys. Thanks for... More
