I have been going to the OPO since it opened. It has gone through many chefs and many changes. Some things are great -- Firecracker Flounder. Many things are not. It is nice that we have a relatively "nice" restaurant in Edisto, but it would be nice to see some NEW desserts and appetizers. What happened to the Goat Cheese?... More

b52-befiftytwo Thanks for your review and business. Our menu, wine list and desserts do change seasonally while our nightly specials and whim soups can change night to night. Most recently we've added a new dessert (Lemon Sorbet in its own fruit shell), added a new beef dish (Grilled Petite Beef Tender Medallions with a Mustard Tarragon Sauce) reworked the entire... More

Make sure to call for reservations! The best quality food on Edisto Island. It's the only place you will have to dress nicer than a T-shirt and shorts.

While on vacation last week on Edisto Island, SC, my wife and I decided to check out one of the local restaurants. We had been to the island back in December but it didn't seem to be open then since it was way off season. So we went back and took our daughter and grandkids for vacation in July. This... More

Wait staff was wonderful. Quaint atmosphere. Food was good. Prices unacceptably outrageous. We paid $22 for four average sized shrimp in a puddle of grits, lima beans with a garnish, and a salad. You can have any dressing you like so long as it is honey mustard vinaigrette. The wine that was on special for $37 turned out to be... More

Mark P Happy to read your comments..."Wait staff was wonderful. Quaint atmosphere. Food was good", however I feel our pricing is more than in-line in comparison. In hopes to make you feel better the Kids Shrimp and Grits that were ordered only cost $10..and not.. $22. I hope the others in your party enjoyed their Fried Oyster Cocktail,Oyster Skillet, Roasted... More

My husband and I like historic buildings, so dinner here was a given when we were at Edisto Island. The historic nature of the building has been mostly remodeled out of it, but the food is just so good we didn't care.

This place is considered to be about the best restaurant on the island and we had a good time there. We were looking for a place that could handle a party of 12, our entire extended family. We made our reservation the day before and the restaurant called us on the day of the reservation to make sure that we... More

The Old Post Office Restaurant was an incredible find! From the extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful weight staff to the well kept building, it was an absolute treat! The steak was perfect as was the filet mignon. The atmosphere was perfect for an anniversary dinner. I would highly recommend calling in advance to make a reservation!

Went here not expecting a whole lot. Thought we'd probably have a decent meal given the reviews, but we were absolutely WOW'd. Place is cute but doesn't look like much on the outside. Inside is nice, casual, not fussy. Was a small menu, lots of sauces we hadn't heard of. So we asked the waiter what he recommended, and he... More

We went with family, but I can see how it would be lovely for couples. My husband and I may choose to return for date night. The food was good but I felt it a bit pricey.
