Food and service

Would not take more than 2 credit cards per table no matter the number of people. All entrees are served with a salad, no choice of dressing other than house dressing which is an oil and vinegar. All entrees served with grits and vegetable of the day...no other options! Don't plan to return.

Harriette A Thanks for your review. In hopes that you will reconsider a return visit, we do take more than 2 credit cards per table but have to limit it to charging each card equally based on our credit card processing. Our house salad dressing is a Honey Mustard Vinaigrette with an option of Oil and Vinegar. If not a... More

Service was good until bill time - only guy who could take payment was on phone. Not my problem. Appetizer of onion sausage with black beans very good. Wife's veal good, but they skimped on the mousseline sauce. I had quail which were deep fried and pretty good. Good desserts and OK wine list. Island's best attempt at a quality... More

The Old Post Office or OPO as it known amongst those in the know has been around for over 25 years. It one of the finest restaurants that is literally off the beaten path. Located on State Route 174 approximately 15 miles south of US 17 it is a light shining in the darkness. The food is is without a... More

Adam and Toniann, offer the finest special dining experience on the sweetest laid back island of Edisto. Always some fabulous whim soup and special entrees, but if you are a shrimp and grits connoisseur this is a must try. Chef Smalls produces a fabulous, smooth as velvet grits with a mousselline (sp) sauce. And if you're lucky, there's butter beans... More

My wife had the crab cakes, and I had the Mahi Mahi We thought our food was terrific, excellently prepared. We are not normally grit fans but our grits were very good as were limassol beans. We really enjoyed our experience. We were here five years ago and believe the restaurant is still an excellent eating experience. Highly recommend.

Just experienced a disappointing visit to the Old Post Office (I would have sent this review directly to their management, but their website is primitive and most comments are from 2010). Our family visited Edisto frequently in the past and always found the Post Office a very enjoyable high-end restaurant tucked far off the beaten path. We recalled how lucky... More

If you're looking for a change or for a special occasion while you're at Edisto, this is the place. A little more upscale and yes a little more expensive than most restaurants on the beach, but well worth a try. We celebrated my wife's birthday here tonight, crab cakes for her a ribeye for me, both entrees were excellent! Good... More

We had 3 families (a total of 15) of all adults ages 22-60. Everyone's food was great. Our Crew ordered everything from Seafood to Steaks to Chicken. I personally had the blueberry Chicken dish which was great. The entrees were between $23 and $30 which i think was very reasonable for a high quality dinner. Most all meats came with... More

We have dined here at least once annually for about 15 years. Originally wonderful. Now mediocre. Few selections of entrees. All overpriced. No choice of side dishes; grits and beans for everyone.
