Went here not expecting a whole lot. Thought we'd probably have a decent meal given the reviews, but we were absolutely WOW'd. Place is cute but doesn't look like much on the outside. Inside is nice, casual, not fussy. Was a small menu, lots of sauces we hadn't heard of. So we asked the waiter what he recommended, and he... More

We went with family, but I can see how it would be lovely for couples. My husband and I may choose to return for date night. The food was good but I felt it a bit pricey. The waitress was friendly and attentive. My husband was in search of delicious flounder, and he enjoyed the one at the Old Post... More

we have been here numerous times and it is always an excellent dinner. The staff and owner are extremely friendly. I can not think of any of the food that I wouldn't order. They are very creative and presentation is very good. Be sure to make reservations. If I recall properly, they are closed on Sunday and Monday. The sunset... More

WAY over priced for the food and service. Could barely get another basket of thin bread because each guest was allotted two pieces. Service was very slow. Go to one of the other fine restaurants on the island.

Julie L Thanks for your review. If not looking for a relaxed dining experience with quality food made to order at any price…… you are correct in stating “Go to one of the other fine restaurants on the island”. The Old Post Office is in a league of its own in Edisto. Wonderful atmosphere (especially for a retired letter carrier) in which to enjoy a truly delicious meal. If it is within one's dining budget it is well worth it. Smoked salmon appetizer was excellent, as was the filet mignon and the veal. Best grits ever!!! Our compliments to... More

Whenever we visit Edisto Island, The Old Post Office is the highlight of our trip. The food is out of this world. I personally could eat an entire plate full of their grits, but this time around, we ordered the filet mignon and "veal edistonian" which were outstanding. I also would highly recommend trying their crab cakes! When it comes... More

My thanks to the staff for getting us in last minute Friday night. Party of six became a party of eight by the time we were done. Very good service and very good quality food prepared well. It's been a few years since we had tried them, and they really stepped up their game.
