Great Southern home cooking in a quaint, quiet atmosphere. Service was excellent and friendly. We enjoyed the food and service very much.

I was craving some juicy tender golden baked chicken, baby lima beans, collard greens and mac and cheese. the veggies were good, but OMG the chicken was horrible instead of baked it was hard, crispy and dry. I chewed on the first piece until I could swallow it. I ask the waiter if he could exchange the other piece for... More

This is the place to go for good Southern homestyle cookin'! The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is delicious with many wonderful choices for side dishes, and many are more unique that you'd not get in other restaurants that may consider themselves similar. The stewed apples as a side were fantastic and the flavoring on their mashed potatoes... More

We were very pleased with the quality of food and the price at this restaurant! We had tried traditional southern food once before in Savannah but weren't overly impressed. However, I'm glad we tried again! Make sure you leave room for dessert and try the blackberry cobbler, you won't be disappointed!

I went to the Lizard Thicket on Elmwood St. to get my breakfast and the staff and manger were very rude. I went to the drive thru to place my order and the person on the speaker never greeted me. After saying hello to the speaker I still didn't get a response. So I drove to the window to place... More

Not bad for a "meat and three" restaurant...I wish they used fresh, local veggies and left off the salt. I do not add salt to food so my tastes may be sensitive but Lizards is often too salty to eat.

My husband and I recently moved to a new home within our city. During the move we were tired of fast food, but did not have an up and running kitchen just yet. The name Lizards Thicket had not really appealed to us in the couple of years we had live here, but we were desperate to find a good... More

We always stop at Lizard Thicket when passing through Columbia. Lived in Columbia for 3 years and know that it is a local favorite and very consistent. Fried chicken is our favorite but everything we have tried is very good. From a value standpoint, it is an excellent deal. Portions are large and service is always good. If ambience is... More

If you are looking for a home cooked meal like your mom or grandma used to make. This could be your spot. It is good food for a reasonable price. The staff are friendly. The building is older and might make you feel like you are in your mom or grandma's kitchen.
