NY Deli in the good ole South

A trip to NY dictates dining at one of its famous delis, foremost of which to me is Carnegie Deli. However, a hotel in NY cost more for a single night than 10 visits to DiPrato's-and it is just as good if not better. The prices are quite reasonable and the menu selection impressive. The wait... read more

Had a nice family brunch, but for the usual dispute as one family member insists upon organics, and no organic selections on menu, can't be really that hard and would probably be profitable, so close to the university. I had a nice cobb salad, with chicken, avocado and bacon, balsamic vinaigrette, one of the party had the special French toast... More

Its been a while since I first visited Di Prato's but I had the chance to go with my wife for lunch recently. This place is very busy and the main dining room is fairly loud but we were able to get a table on the side porch. There are maybe a dozen tables there and it is much quieter.... More

In town for the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series, I was looking for the area's best pimiento cheese sandwich and was sent here by locals. Half of our team can in for lunch and it was terrific! Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed. The pimiento cheese is delicious and the pita chips are amazing. The staff was... More

My wife and searched TA for a good lunch on our regular trek between Western North Carolina and North Florida. This is a wonderful, upbeat place right near the USC (having lived in Southern California, I'm only now getting accustomed to another "USC!"), filled with attractive students and their parents. I asked for the three most popular dishes on the... More

You cannot go wrong when you have a hankering for pimento cheese. All homemade on site and you purchase the pita chips that will cause a person to lose their mind and eat the entire bag.

Visiting from out of town, we found this place on recommendation from others on here after realizing our favorite lunch place wasn't open on Saturday. We were not disappointed! My husband ranked the BLT as one of his top 5 ever. The salad I had was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was extremely fresh. We saw that almost... More

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday as we were passing though Columbia. The food was excellent. We had a Turkey Rueben, chicken salad and the veggie sandwich. Everything was spot on!! However... If the food was excellent the desserts are out of this world!! We had a mini cannoli, a slice of key lime pie and a slice of cheesecake.... More

I have been on the hunt for a good Reuben and I found it. They serve it as a triple decker and was more than happy to remove the extra slice of bread for me. The meat was tender, the sauerkraut not over powering. I normally don't like pimento cheese and a colleague order some and I couldn't stop eating... More
