Fun & Fancy

Great lunch place with an emphasis on "New Southern" cuisine. One of those fun & fancy places that ladies like to lunch. But the guys like it too!

Nice, quiet restaurant tucked into an older building (beneath Claussen's inn). Wonderful combinations of flavors. Today I had curried chicken and peach salad. These are not your canned peaches, fresh, local and cooked in a spicy sweet sauce. Pecans and good, leafy greens underneath. Bravo, Ricky!

My friends visited last Fri, 7/17/15 for a girl's night trip and wanted something off the beaten path for dinner. This place fit the bill in a casual elegance dining experience!! Service was excellent and friendly, we each tried a different dish and each of them were supreme!!!! I'm not a fan of salmon but it was moist, not overcooked... More

The atmosphere is very nice with artwork, I assume done by students from the University of South Carolina which is just across the street. My wife and I were more impressed the first time we went there than our most recent visit. My fried chicken was good, but covered with a heavy gravy that overpowered the dish. My wife's sandwich... Great food. Wine and beer list is lengthy although we don't normally drink. Get there early (before 6:00) unless you are OK with waiting. Service a little disoriented, we had to wait for our food for 45 minutes, but the manager comped our appetizer for the inconvenience. I would definitely go back.

My daughter and I stayed at the Inn during part of our orientation to USC. The restaurant was hoppin' on a Tuesday night and alot of people seemed to know each other. The bartender was very nice and overall service was great. The dinner was excellent...I had a swordfish dish that was truly great. Nice to just walk back to... More

I've only been here for lunch but both times I had great local food for a reasonable price. I didn't even know I liked fried green tomatoes until I tried their fried green tomato app with pimento cheese. Catfish is great too.

Had dinner here on July 1, 2015. I had the filet, wife had fried chicken. We also had the creole shrimp on a bed of blue cheese cole slaw as an appetizer. It was a Wednesday night around 8 and we walked right in and sat at a booth. Service was top notch. Greatly enjoyed the food and the walk... More

For consistency it is the best restaurant in town. The prices are reasonable and the variety is excellent. No restaurant in town does a better job frying oysters. Never had a bad seafood entree.

The shrimp and grits with peach sangria was a perfect touch of southern cooking. The blacken shrimp were yummy. The staff so personal and interested in us. Half price wine on Mondays was a nice surprise,
