Good Food and lively atmosphere

fairly new basement restaurant and bar next to the Hyatt on Gervais St. All items were pretty good - not fantastic but as good as any other Japanese in town . The portions are not huge but we left satisfied.Service wasn't top notch but that was due to large crowd rather than inattentiveness .

I love sushi. I could eat it every day, for every meal, until I die. This goes doubly so for my boyfriend. For his birthday, I decided to sign us up for the Sushi 101 class that is done and hosted by Saki Tumi (yes. Did you know that? They do a Sushi 101 class. Isn't that amazingly cool?). I... More

50 cent sushi pieces on Thursday nights makes this a must. Their spicy tuna may be the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. The philly roll is great. Their specialty rolls can be a tad on the sweet side but are always fresh and delicious. The beer and wine selection is more than adequate. The atmosphere is fresher and... More

When you go, make sure you go on a Wednesday. Especially, if it is your first time trying it. They have 3 rolls half off as well as all their specialty drinks. I had the Sin drink which was a jalpeno martini almost. It was really good and then the sushi took sometime to come out but that was because... More

Sat at bat since I was solo on a Thursday when they had .50 pieces. Sushi was fresh and great. Service was spot on and didn't feel weird being a solo. Was at USC for orientation and had last night in hotel by myself. Glad I went out instead of sitting in my room at the Hyatt.

Had been here years ago but absolutely stunned at the sushi and flavors. Edamame - ask for the Sriracha mixed with sweet Thai chili sauce - not on menu Tunacado salad - absolutely the best tuna I have had in the Southeast - ask for ponzu sauce or add soy sauce Naked roll Sashimi tuna sampler - flavors are unique... The king street roll was fantastic but the first time i tried it, it had flaming hot peppers in the middle of one. should've asked for spicy mayo only. The bartender i usually always run into here, has a d tattooed on his throat. Well it must stand for dou*he bag because he's always mad and growling any other time... More

Went to Saki Tumi while in Columbia and chose it completely based on the name - we really liked the sushi, and were there when martinis and speciality drinks were half off, so we enjoyed those too! The fish was so fresh, and the rolls were unique - especially enjoyed the naked roll, but weren't disappointed by any of them.... More

This is by far one another one of my favorite places in Columbia! The owner, Dave, is a wonderful person who makes sure that his staff is taking care of you! Drinks are fantastic, sushi is innovative and they are always coming up with creative events for the weekend/late night crowd.

we went here with the two gals and a fork tour and had saki, a slice of seared tuna, a roll, and some beef. I wish we had stayed for more! Next time I am in Columbia I will definitley go back for a full meal!
