Amazed that we had a great seafood dinner the evening of graduation at the Blue Marlin. Terrific shrimp and grits. Excellent service.

Made reservations at the blue marlin after my fiancée had a great time at a business dinner there. I made a reservation on open table from the website with special seating requests, unfortunately not even mentioned or accommodated, but I let it slide because I had 0 hours of sleep since we got into town on a house hunting trip....

Okay my fruity Martini was great and my Cajun Shrimp Pasta entree was even better! The service was pleasant. We sat in a booth which had plenty of room, you didn't feel cramped. The nice selection of beer on tap was impressive. I was very pleased with everthing.
I heard so much of this restaurant so my husband and I finally decided to try it. We went on a Saturday for the lunch menu. He had the shrimp and grits and I had the salmon. I had better. I do not want to name the restaurant but we really had better seafood. We will not even eat there...

Nice ambiance, everyone at the table raved about the collared greens (not my thing) so request them if you're a fan, they're complimentary.
We were seated around 6pm and before we knew it the bar was 3 deep and the dining room was full. Not to mention the crowd waiting outside. The food was good enough to warrant the crowd. I had the she-crab soup which was excellent. My wife and I both had the Mahi Orleans. Make sure to ask for vegetable...

I would say this is an average restaurant in most towns. Some locals we met said that it was about all Columbia had to offer. Food was decent, nothing exceptional. Our table of four all would have gotten something different, which means none of us were that impressed. Atmosphere was good and staff was friendly.
had lunch there today 4/15/13 got my usual SHRIMP&GRITS.have never be unhappy with the food or service there, went to charleston on 4/14/13,tried the shrimp&grits at a.w.shucks,were ok but had to go to blue marlin, to get the best
One of the best tuna steaks I've ever had! Everything was delicious (A group of 4 all enjoyed our meal); everyone agreed the seafood was terrific. I'd go back in a second if I'm ever in the area again.
Hubby had the gumbo and thought it was the best thing next to NOLA. The sausage was tasty and the roux was perfect. I had the shrimp creole and enjoyed it, but it had zip. You could tell that the shrimp was fresh! Be sure to bring enough change for the parking meters.
