We were visiting Columbia on college tour and found this gem. We were able to be seated outside. Service was terrific. The food selection was varied and presented to us quickly. We enjoyed traditional southern dishes as well as all American favorites.

They took Chilean Seabass off the menu, and replaced it with cod, at the same price...nuff said! They do have the best marbled ribeye I have ever had!

Converted train depot in historic district. Outdoor seating under the covered platform. Friendly staff, good wine list, lots of old time ambiance. Second visit. I recommend.

Love to visit Blue Marlin when we are downtown Columbia. Although they specialize in seafood, they have a wonderful BLT salad. I always have one when I go there. Great place to go if you are going to an event downtown since it is centrally located in the Vista.

We were told to expect a wait of an hour for a table however by sitting at the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail we discovered we could also eat there. Happy days for two hungry post Masters golf fans as we could also watch the recorded proceedings on the tv. The food was nice although shrimp and grits (starter portion)... More

When you dine out with a group including new family members you just don't want to cause a scene. Service was really good. Waters filled, very knowledgable and handled himself very well. (sorry I don't remember his name) But the food was just ok. Crabcakes were delicious. But the calamari was over so over dressed all you tasted was the... More

Located in an old rail station converted into restaurant in the heart of downtown Columbia, Blue Marlin has an antique setting and a relaxed but classy atmosphere. We had a pleasant lunch there on a sunny Sunday. I had the all crab lunch - the cream of crab soup is very good, the crab cake delicious. My husband had the... More

Wow! The wait for a table was worth it. I had the best shrimp and grits. And I make grits all the time. My husband's salmon was perfect as well. Reservations are a must, no matter what the hostess says when you call.

Ate at the bar and service was a tad slow, but that beat waiting 1-1.5 hrs to get a table. I had the Cajun catch and thought it was well prepared. Wedge salad wasn't the least bit special (i might even say that the lettuce wasn't the greatest/freshest). Nice environment. Light and lively. Note that parking in front is metered.... More
