We eat lunch here often and always love the food. Simple and fresh! It can get rather crowded but they recently expanded the seating so usually no wait. Make sure you try the chicken salad it really is the best

We were actually walking to another restaurant for lunch on Freshman Move In Weekend and saw this place and decided to give it a try. It has been quite a while since we were in the Five Points area and had no idea this was here. My wife and I had a very nice lunch. Even though the place was... More

We stopped on our way down south and enjoyed it so much we went on the way back north again. Not only is the food delicious, but the shop is an enjoyable place to browse while you wait. The smoked salmon bagel was perfect, and the ham and cheese panini amazing--the Dutch cheese made it extra special. Don't forget to... More

Chicken salad is perfect-no fancy ingredients (grapes, nuts) but delicious pulled chicken & classic recipe. Try it in the cantaloupe!! Egg salad is awesome too! Unique items in the gift shop too.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Greenville, SC for the weekend. We sat outside and had a delicious lunch and then went inside and browsed the shop. The food was very good, the service excellent, and the friendliness of the staff exceptional -- one of them told me, "it's just in our nature to try to be... More

Nice little cafe to stop in for lunch. There is always a nice crowd which is a good sign that this cafe has good food. If you haven't ate here first must try the chicken salad sandwich on croissant. It's quite yummy.

What a great gem in the heart of 5 points. Consistently have great brunches and an excellent atmosphere. We have been frequenting this café since we first moved to Columbia about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. Even if you aren’t a fan of grits I suggest giving their cheese grits a go and of course their French toast... More

We went there for lunch. They were out of grilled chicken, that was pretty sad. The meats are unimpressive. The cheeses were good. Sandwiches were fairly blah. The bread wasn't fresh. There are better places to go in Columbia. Over priced in my opinion.

I just moved to the area and I decided to try out The Gourmet Shop. I ordered the Veggie sandwich which was absolutely amazing. It was simple and I think that's what made it so good. They don't try to over-do anything by adding too many ingredients. When good quality ingredients are used, you don't need a lot of extras.... More

The food was very good- we started with baked brie and it was SO good. The salad dressing was also very good if you like zesty/Italian-like dressing. I got the vegetarian pesto panini, which was great, but my colleague got the open faced veggie sandwich, which wasn't anything special and a little hard to eat. The pricing is very reasonable...
