Very inventive flavor combinations. Frostings are very rich. Try the mini-cupcakes--just the right amount. Fresh strawbery frosting--delicious. Cupcakes with fresh fruit fillings.

I travel to Charleston often and every time i do i have to come get some cupcakes here. They make there very own homemade butter cream icing that is so creamy and sweet and delicious that it melts in your mouth. I always get the cupcakes and i can never eat just one. I suggest that you go if you... More

We were staying at the Indigo Inn on Meeting Street and decided to walk to the Sugar Bakeshop to try some of their cupcakes. We've been to Charleston many many times, but had never visited this particular side of downtown. The walk looked a little daunting on the map, but actually it was very nice and about a 25 minute... We tried the vanilla cupcake with butter cream icing and the almond coconut chocolate cupcake. My chocolate one was a little too sweet for me, but man was the vanilla butter cream good! You could tell both of them were fresh and homemade. This is an all out second to my favorite place in Tennessee. I plan on going back... More

I have eaten many cupcakes in my day and the lemon curd cupcake I had from Sugar will live on in my memory as the best one. I did go back the next day and had a grapefruit cupcake which was delicious but did not match the smooth flavour and moist cake of the lemon curd. The frosting on both... More

We came by a Saturday afternoon, they weren't too busy at all and it smelt fantastic inside! The cupcakes were pretty good, a little dry though. The icing tasted nice too but a bit pricey for me! 6 cupcakes for $20!

I was dreaming of this cupcake for so long. It was definitely worth the wait! Such a cute place with so many great options. Server led me through all the great options with such patience as I drooled over each one. I opted for the simple yellow cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting. Very reasonably priced for Charleston as well. It... More

A friend who lives in Charleston took me to visit Sugar because I am a cupcake fanatic! I bought 2 cupcakes and a cookie for the road. The lemon cupcake was exceptional (probably one of my top ten favorites of all time). It was light with a delicious lemon curd filling. Chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting was very good though... More

Love this little special hidden gem. The cookies were fresh and delicious! Yummy homemade taste. Worth the visit. I look forward to returning and trying one of their sweet looking cupcakes. Adorable decor and kind service.

This is the place to go when in Charleston and your sweet tooth is aching for a fix. Their lime sugar cookies are amazing and light. They have a great flavor from the lime. The ginger molasses cookies are the same. But as great as the cookies and cupcakes are, you do not want to leave without a tart or... More
