We have tried this place twice now. Each time it seemed to get worse. Food is not fresh and the oysters are way overpriced. The "chef" really needs to rethink the menu and vendors.

This place is always crowded. Great drinks, appetizers and food. I still cannot bring myself to eat oysters, but my wife and the folks we go to Charleston with rave about them. Excellent value. I have had several other options here however, and none have disappointed. Recently had the fish and chips, which was a generous portion, and the fish... More

A group of us were in Charleston last week for three days. We went to pearls twice for happy hour. Great prices and the ops were delicious! The shrimp cocktail was HUGE! Loved the oysters, which we all shared raw, steamed and fried. If you are going to go, get there early (they open at 4) as the place fills... More

Great oysters and beer! Must have is the oyster shooter - tastes like a bloody mary with an oyster! Cool environment.

My wife and I just had a taste for a good happy hour and lite bites our last evening in Charleston. Thank goodness we arrived early (around 4:15pm) on a Thursday afternoon, since we got the last 2 seats at the bar. VERY friendly service by all of the bartenders and enjoyed watching the oyster shuckers do their thing. We... More

Hubby and I walked into a very crowded restaurant which is always a good sign when others on the same block were almost empty. We quickly found the last 2 seats at at bar directly in front of the "shucking" station which is always fun to watch. Hubby ordered Baked Oysters Rockefeller while I ordered a single Mahi taco. Hubby... More

After walking up and down East Bay, we decided on Pearlz because we really wanted to try some oysters during our stay. It was a 30 min wait for 2 on a Wednesday night at 8 pm. The hostess was helpful and suggested we wait by the bar and seats opened up immediately so we didn't have to wait. The... More

Ate here during the happy hour time. Great deal on the oysters and apps. Got to eat outside which added to the enjoyment. They were very busy when we walked in early evening. They don't take reservations. They took our number and called about 45 minutes later. The service was extremely friendly and corrected anything that was wrong immediately without... More

Pearlz Oyster Bar is a great place to go if you like oysters. Yummy shots and snacks. Located in the heart of the social part of Charleston, near some parking areas and close to lots of the "City Action". Try it......as I said " Yummy".
