I've had some good steak, but this is the best I've had to date. We also had a crab cake made largely of crab meat with little filler and lots of flavor. The cauliflower au-gratin was also a huge hit with us. Overall a very good experience and we will be back!

Recommended by the hotel staff. It was our anniversary and at first they put us on the third floor. Lovely small room - tablecloths, but there was a high chair awaiting a couple with a child next to us. I expect children at a family restaurant, but was not willing to chance a screaming child at an expensive, upscale restaurant.... More

First time there. Our waitress was funny and a great server. We had many great wines and the beef tartar was awesome. Great atmosphere, great staff and food.

My husband and I are locals, but had never experienced Oak. We decided to try it for our anniversary dinner last night. From start to finish - it was amazing. We checked in and the hostess immediately wished us a happy anniversary and said she had a great table in mind for us. We enjoyed a drink at the bar... More

For our anniversary we visited Charleston for a few days. We did not tell them that it was our anniversary when we made reservations at the Oak Steakhouse, as we did not want any special attention. We were looking for something special for the occasion and a bit upscale. That is exactly what we got! We were immediately seated on... More

Oak is a wonderful upscale place for a special celebration (in this case a birthday) in a historic former bank building in downtown Charleston. While it prides itself on its outstanding steaks, everything they serve is of the highest quality. While we were there, we received a lot of attention from several different servers, but we did have a little... More

Four if us met to celebrate a business deal. Starting with the blade oysters, it only got better. Priapus had to drive a New York strip. It was just as we ordered. One adventurous sole order the 24 ounce bone in Rib eye. We started with a bottle of chappelette and then a great insignia.

My husband and I were surprised that it took them 40 minutes to seat us on a Monday night when they did not appear to that busy and then it took us 10 minutes to get the attention of the bartender to be able to pay our bill. Though the food was good, it was not over-the-top great and the... More

The food is very good and the customer service is outstanding. There are certain things they could do a bit better as far as food is concerned but I encourage all foodies to go to this restaurant. Compared to the rest it is a step above. And honestly, I have not been made to feel like a true honored guest... More
