Stopped by on our way out of town. Delish brisket sandwich for hubbie and scrumptious Cuban sandwich for me! Can't go wrong with Him 'n Nicks.
Heard several various reviews about the 'new' Nick's BBQ since they split from 'Jim & Nicks'. Well, the food we had was as good as any BBQ anywhere. The best deal is a bowl of bbq brisket chili (A+++) and a Greek salad ($7!). Also fabulous was the smoked turkey breast BBQ, the cheese corn breads (Yowee), the toasted bread,... More
Simple rub, smoked a long time over hickory fire. Ample portions. Good selection of local brews on-draft. Four of us split entrees of ribs, brisket and turkey. Really good beans and hush puppies as side orders. Good blues being played over the sound system.
I had been here before, but my boyfriend had not, so while shopping on King Street, we decided to stop in! His eyes were way bigger than his stomach, and he ordered a half rack of the spareribs (I think he thought they were babyback ribs). Anyway, it was really good! I had the pulled pork sandwich and macaroni and... More
Got here around 7:00 on a sunday night and it was crowded. My wife and I shared an order of ribs and onion rings. Ribs were great. Loved the sauce. They were chewy and not overcooked. Onion rings had a delicious batter and were excellent. This is a great place if you're in the mood for barbecue.
During a recent business trip to Charleston, I had the pleasure of discovering Jim 'N Nick's BBQ on King Street. I went back two more times 'cause I was hooked! The food is authentic (I had the pulled pork and the beef brisket) and the sides are great too. You can't go wrong with the sweet potato casserole, the baked... More
My wife and I are Yanks in Charleston on a little vacation. We weren't used to southern cooked food. Now we're spoiled, thanks to Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q in Charleston, SC. I don't know how we were so lucky to find this place, but it was just up King St. from our hotel, and we popped in. My, my, my!... More
Jim 'n' Nicks was recommended as a good BBQ place. Good pulled pork. Good BBQ sauce. Good draft beers (local). But: the food arrived tepid. Spare ribs OK (but plentiful). Chicken OK. Service was prompt (you do stand in line to order); when they brought a side of Mac and Cheese which we had not ordered, they brought what we... More
We liked Jim N' Nicks a lot. So much so we ate there 3 times in four days. The ribs were particularly good and the banana pudding outstanding. We had more than enough to eat and never spend $30 on any visit.
We were looking for somewhere to eat and looked in the GPS and it pulled up Jim n Nick's and a few other places, and we thought BBQ sounded good so we gave it a try. The next day I looked on trip advisor and saw that it was ranked #10 for the North Charleston area, I highly disagree, it... More
