bruschetta was excellent with their hot bread and olive oil with parmesan cheese... veal saltimbocca was my first choice and was tender and tasty... chicken marsala was very well prepared with mushrooms and pasta... had enough left over for another enjoyable meal... P.J. was our waitress and took great care of us...packaged all our leftovers up and slipped us a... More

As much as we enjoyed our meal, our waitress, PJ, made our visit to La Fontana such a pleasure and quite memorable. When we next dine there, we will request PJ as our waitperson. She is personable, efficient, and terminally cute.

Angelo served me. He is a debonaire gentleman and made me feel like I was in Italy. The Gnocchi was in a red sauce that had fresh garlic and other wonderful ingredients. I had them add some spinach. It was some of the best I have ever had. The tiramisu is worth every calorie. This was a cheat meal that... More

I visit Charleston quite often and always looking for a new place to eat. I love Italian food. I do not like chain restaurants, because they begin to lack originality, taste and portion sizes. I brought myself, my husband and two colleagues to eat at La Fontana. We ordered a bottle of wine, calamari, bruschetta, lasgna, chicken marsala, seafood pasta,... More

Having tried several restaurants with Italian fare around Charleston, I find myself coming back to La Fontana on Savannah Highway (my grown daughter agrees). Their lunch special menu has nice selections and their 3 for $20 dinner menu was great fun (choose one appetizer, one entree, one dessert). My daughter and I love their caesar salad and chicken (and veal)... More

La Fontana offers excellent, authentic Italian cuisine. Friendly, thoughtful service in an informal setting. Clearly a favorite in the neighborhood but worth a short drive for visitors to Charleston as well.

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal with a great atmosphere. Our waiter Jonathan made us feel right at home and we will definitely eat here again on our next trip to Charleston.

Friends who visited Charleston recently recommended La Fontana. We didn't know (nor did our friends when we told them of our bad experience) that there are two La Fontanas in the Charleston area. By sheer bad luck we ended up at the wrong one, on Northwoods Blvd. We arrived at about 6:30 for dinner and noticed only one table occupied... More

My wife and I were in west Ashley area so we decided to try La Fontana , had seen on TV and sounded good. First the ac wasn't working good, granted it was about 100deg outside. Service was quick and timely, but the food was lacking. I had veal that was very tough and rubbery, favor was ok. My wife's chicken was... More

I'm not sure why they received any bad reviews, this place is incredible. Upon arriving we were promptly greeted and seated. Since we had a party of 13 we tried many different items on the menu. Pizza, lasagna, Alfredo….my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Huge portions at reasonable prices. Bonus points for the talented piano player.
