Established in 2002, and housed in what was originally an indigo warehouse, this Charleston fish house redefines "fresh" from the menu to the decor. COAST features 40-ft ceilings, rustic tin roofs, and paintings from around the world, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an eclectic beach bar. Enjoy a Peach Blanco Sangria outside on the patio, or a delicious bottle of wine in the spacious bar lined with preserved palm trees. COAST's chefs meet daily with local farmers and fishermen to procure the freshest seafood and produce in the Lowcountry. At the heart of the restaurant is the hickory and oak custom made wood burning grill, a feature you will only find at COAST. The menu incorporates Charleston Classics with our chefs' unique creations. Local favorites include the selection of wood-grilled fresh fish, Seared Rare Tuna, Fish Tacos and the full raw bar. Additional original plates are offered nightly to take full advantage of our city's bountiful local ingredients. A great deal of time and attention goes into compiling a wine selection to match the flavor of our wines to the dynamics of COAST's dishes. The wine list features organic and biodynamic producers. COAST makes every effort to support up-and-coming global wine makers, while simultaneously finding only the highest quality products!

Fresh Seafood, so good

The food was very fresh. Shrimp taste fresh, light batter and fried perfectly. Tilapia was wonderful. The bread was good with soft butter, that is a plus. The frozen lemonade was refreshing in the hot humid day. Enjoyable part of the evening. Off to the ballet.

Had lunch here and ordered a BLT with fries. The fries are really crispy and wonderful. The bred on the BLT was very hard, but there was loads of thick bacon, so we just ate everything but the bread. Everything we saw others eating looked great too! Nice atmosphere and very close to the Visitors Center.

I had a little difficulty finding the Coast, it was worth the extra footsteps! Every employee was helpful from seating to servings. The Chef asked about our food that was delightful, we were satisfied with our meals and had no room for dessert. A great dining experience and I will eat there on my next visit.

Restaurant located at the end of a well-maintained alley behind Rue de Jean in an historic building. Waiter was friendly and efficient. Excellent shrimp cocktail and crab dip but couldn't believe a beer cost me $.6.79!!

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at Coast late one evening while vacationing in Charleston. Coast has an excellent seafood driven menu with a great selection of appetizers and entrees. We enjoyed calamari and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer before what I seriously consider one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had the pleasure to... More

We ordered the raw bar sampler and were not disappointed. Entree portions were quite generous as well. Good ambiance and very lively when we were there.

Recommended by a local and lived up to the hype. The shrimp and grits were great. Don't be put off by its location in a small alley - the food is good and service was wonderful

We ate in the bar area, which was just the kind of relaxed vibe we were looking for. They had some live music, great bar tenders, yummy cocktails and really good food. Great peel and eat shrimp and oysters. We liked the relaxed younger vibe and felt like the food was better than the average Charleston place (much better we... More

We visited Coast for a bachelorette party in May. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Food was exceptional even for a busy night. I wasn't overly impressed with my entree as it was the special of the night and was just grilled steak, mahi, and shrimp but others in our group ordered off the nightly menu and it... More
