Description: Established in 2002, and housed in what was originally an indigo...
Established in 2002, and housed in what was originally an indigo warehouse, this Charleston fish house redefines "fresh" from the menu to the decor. COAST features 40-ft ceilings, rustic tin roofs, and paintings from around the world, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an eclectic beach bar. Enjoy a Peach Blanco Sangria outside on the patio, or a delicious bottle of wine in the spacious bar lined with preserved palm trees. COAST's chefs meet daily with local farmers and fishermen to procure the freshest seafood and produce in the Lowcountry. At the heart of the restaurant is the hickory and oak custom made wood burning grill, a feature you will only find at COAST. The menu incorporates Charleston Classics with our chefs' unique creations. Local favorites include the selection of wood-grilled fresh fish, Seared Rare Tuna, Fish Tacos and the full raw bar. Additional original plates are offered nightly to take full advantage of our city's bountiful local ingredients. A great deal of time and attention goes into compiling a wine selection to match the flavor of our wines to the dynamics of COAST's dishes. The wine list features organic and biodynamic producers. COAST makes every effort to support up-and-coming global wine makers, while simultaneously finding only the highest quality products!

Tasty Treat

Who would expect to find such a unique restaurant in any alley? Great food and service served on the patio tucked in an unusual atmosphere. More elegant than one would expect considering the location.

Went to Cast Bar and Grill for the second time, having thoroughly enjoyed our first visit several years ago while visiting Charleston. Very busy Sunday evening in early March, with a 45 minute wait. We were fortunate to sit at the bar, and the bar tender advised us 1/2 price bottles of wine - bonus! Enjoyed the wine and atmosphere... More

Great food, service and atmosphere. One tip, when trying to locate it, it is actually down an alley. They share the address with another restaurant that is actually on street front. Hope to return one day.

Had read the review before going so had high expectations; which not only met but exceeded. Service was excellent, as was the food. Good portion sizes, plated well with lots of flavor. Everyone in our party left very satisfied with the whole experience. It's located, along with several other restaurants, in an alley so be sure to check your directions.... More

We loved this place. Small, hidden off the main drag in the city of Charleston. My wife put our name on the list and instead of 90-120 min wait they called us on our cell in 30 min. Jeff Brocket, the bartender and our waiter was super friendly and helpful. I got the surf and turf special for the night... More

We stayed at the Hampton Inn around the corner and went to Coast for drinks and dinner and were so glad we did. The selection was extensive and the food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend for anyone going to Charleston.

It is worth finding this one down the alley! There are many seafood choices and drink options. I love the ceviche.

Coast is a bar that just happens to serve seafood, and they do a good job. We waited half an hour on a Tuesday night, so plan on a few beers before dinner. We had bacon wrapped scallops, fried green tomatoes, and fried oysters, the first two were great, the oysters we could leave behind. Lots of choices on the... More
