High Cotton has a great atmosphere and service. I liked the large, open dining room, table near the window, fantastic live jazz music. Our service was outstanding; the bread hot out of the oven and delicious. The food was presented beautifully. Then, I took one bite of my swordfish, and it was so salty that it ruined the dish. My... This is true Charleston dining. Classic setting right on the street with that downtown Charleston feel. Live jazz band in the bar and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service from a knowledgeable staff. We had a medium sized group, were seated promptly and the staff was right there to get us started. The food was superb, nice combinations, good presentations... More

In town for a couple days had drinks and appetizers plus desert. The atmosphere was wonderful, they had a small Jazz trio which added to the delight of our group, the service was crisp and very knowledgeable about the menu and the area. The unusual twist on creme brûlée was an orange mandarin flavor that was absolutely Devine.

We love trying different restaurants while in Charleston. Great atmosphere and music while you dine. Their cocktails are unique and delicious along with a great wine list. We enjoyed appetizers, fish entrees and even the bread. Our server was very good and helpful with our selections. The only thing disappointing were both desserts. The pecan pie crust was tough and... High Cotton is a fun jazz club which is abuzz with socialites and tourists. I love Espresso Martinis – my favorite drink in the world after wine. However, not everyone gets it right, or at least to my liking. High Cotton makes them just perfect and exactly how I think an Espresso Martini should be made. Their “World Famous Espresso... More

Last night we walked over to Cumberland and East Bay to High Cotton. We were right there to open the dining room at 5:30, and we had the room to ourselves for most of our meal. A jazz trio was playing in the bar area, and pleasant music wafted into our room. The Restaurant Week menu changes daily and tonight's... More

Started by having some drinks in the bar and listening to Cattle in the Cane blue grass/jazz musicians who were fantastic. Ambiance of the restaurant is great, especially since I'm a Notebook fan. After being seated for dinner (still enjoying the piped in music from the bar), we enjoyed shrimp and grits and filet Oscar, prepared perfectly. Rolls and butter... More
