Beautiful restaurant in the upscale Charleston Place Hotel. We were greeted warmly and had requested a specific table for the four of us and we were taken to it without waiting. In this case the bar is so nice I would not have minded a glass of wine at the bar, but it was quite nice to be seated straight... More

My husband and I ate at the Charleston Grill in Charleston in October. We started out with their Buffalo Mozzarella, a twist on Caprese. I was really good! My husband ordered the tenderloin medallions with new potatoes, and carrots & string beans. I ordered the crab cake entrée with shrimp and a side of roasted cauliflower. All our food was... More

This restaurant located in the Belmond Hotel ( formerly Orient Express) is a top notch dining venue. Pull up at the hotel car portico and enjoy free valet parking . There are two bars in the hotel but the restaurant has its own cocktail area which is a lovely spot tat often offers live music. Food quality and menu choices... More

What a pleasure to dine in a restaurant where conversation is possible, where wait staff are unobtrusive, but there when needed-- and a wonderful menu. The crab cakes were some of the best, properly seasoned with big moist flakes , and the smoked quail was tender with wonderful flavor. Indeed all four of us were very happy diners.

We spent three and a half hours, just my and me, in culinary heaven at the Charleston Grill. The food was amazing, and the pace of the evening seemed quite natural. We were surprised by how long we were there, because the evening certainly never dragged. The crabcakes redefined what crabcake means -- rich in crab flavor, moist and wonderfully... More

Over 4 days we ate at 5 different restaurants. This was # 2 and I include Peninsular Grill in that list. The crab cakes were the best I have ever had (90% crab the waiter said). We had the flounder and sea bass and both were exceptional. The Pina Colada Cake was good but does not hold a candle to... More

The food was good, but it didn't live up to the #2 spot on the tripadvisor list. If you are looking for romantic and quiet, I would chose somewhere else (circa 1886). I probably wouldn't go there again because I think there are better "food experiences" around the corner, but the service was ok, and the live Jazz band was... More

Our three nights in Charleston we went to Peninsula Grill, Hall's Chophouse and Charleston Grill (Thanks TripAdvisor!). All were absolutely wonderful, but really, when push comes to shove, I'd have to go back to Charleston Grill if I only got to pick one! The service is the crown gem in a pool of jewels, extremely attentive but not intrusive and... More

All the locals have recommended this as being the best in Charleston and so far I have to agree. The fish was excellent but the Porkchop with grits was even better. The service was great even jazz while you eat. I have to agree with the locals make sure you go here while you're in Charleston.

The meal we had was one of the best meals we have had - ambience, service, food all excellent. Desserts were sublime! Thoroughly recommend.
