Jestine's isn't a fancy restaurant. It's a great local place that serves excellent food at reasonable prices. We recently ate lunch at the restaurant. I had okra soup and fried oysters. My wife had fried flounder. The soup was great (obviously, you must like okra to enjoy). Both seafood baskets were plentiful, fresh, and well cooked. The service was good.... More

Food is good, but it doesn't live up to the hype. Tourists are looking at their phones to show a checkin at Jestine's. Service is very good and the menu is interesting.

We tried a variety of different foods from the menu and everything was great. Good old fashioned Southern cuisine at a fair price.

The people were so awesome here! I was eating alone, and the host pulled out my chair, and then brought me a newspaper. My waitress was fun and recommended the fried chicken, and even talked me into the collard greens (which I normally refuse to eat, but here were so good) the chicken is touted on the walls as being... Great service! Delish cucumbers to start with! Fried chicken...dark and white meat moist and delicious! Homemade mashed tators, gravy and collard greens! Nothing but YUMMY and my husband and I shared a meal b/c there is so much. We loved it and would go there again with no question!

Had lunch at Jestine's Kitchen and very much enjoyed the food. The complimentary pickles were a treat. The home cooked meat & vegetables & don't forget the cornbread were great. Had the berry cobbler, peach & blueberries for dessert. If I lived in Charleston this would be a regular stop for me.

We went go dinner at the recommendation of our inn keeper. As great fans of southern/soul food, this was somewhat disappointing. We were seated in the back of the dining room. This would have been fine except loitering wait staff and kitchen staff kept using the back door to go out and smoke. The smell reached us every time the... More

My wife and I were so excited to eat at Jestine's Kitchen because of the reviews and because we were dying for some real southern cooking. Maybe we just weren't in the mood, or maybe Jestine's was having a bad day (or both), but we weren't all that impressed. The fried green tomatoes were good, as was the pimento cheese... More
