This place was amazing! The food reminded me of Sunday dinners with my family, like my mom was the one who prepared the food but this was so much better. I had turkey and gravy with cornbread (try the corn bread, it's $0.75). My friends had the ham, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. They too were in love with... More

I'm really happy there wasn't a line when we showed up here for lunch! Otherwise, my rating would be much lower. The food wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great. The fried green tomatoes barely had any cornmeal breading. So really it was just a soggy warm green tomato. The french fries were oddly chewy, as though maybe they weren't... More

This is probably the best experience I have had in a long time at a restaurant. For one, our server Josh was just the cutest and sweetest guy. He is very personable, professional and funny. Well rounded!! The coconut cream pie was just as good as Josh!! LOL! Seriously though, everything was great. Fried chicken is their staple and we... More

Great soul food with friendly staff and budget friendly. What I didn't like is the tip (20%) was automatically added to our bill.

Southern cooking is the specialty. Prices are reasonable and the dishes are very good. This is a popular spot with a short waiting line each time we went by on Meeting Street, but it is not exceptional, just very good. Hushpuppy's are great and a signature appetizer.

We just loved it here. The wait was wrapped around the side but they moved as quick as they could. Our server was friendly, the fried chicken was awesome, mashed potatoes were skin on yumminess. Make sure you get the coca cola cake!! The hostess even went out if her way to get our kids some little toys to play... More

There are always people waiting outside to get into Jestine's. Jestine's has a very eclectic decor and menu. A great place to eat for breakfast or lunch. Real Southern cooking, served with a smile.

I found the best southern food I was looking for while traveling when I found this little dive restaurant. So amazing and cheap. They have amazing homemade pickles they give as a free starter - so good I brought a huge mason jar worth back to AK with me. Check this place out - you can get the best southern... More

Wine was a good price. Food was average. Portions were average. Service was excellent and the wait staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our visit. The food wasn't anything special, but the service was great!

We had to wait outside to get a table, but there were fans, water and benches to accomodate the wait. Worth the wait. Once inside got a good flavor for some low country cooking, they did not have the shrimp & grits I wanted, but settled for the fried chicken, my husband had the FGT BLT and the teens had... More
