Good Southern cuisine, good service and reasonably priced. Corn bread with butter/honey and pickled cucumbers were excellent.

The food here was excellent. My husband and I both thought it was the best southern fried chicken we have had when visiting the south. I had the Meatloaf which was great and the portions are large plenty to bring home! If you enjoy great southern home cooking I would highly Recommend Jestine's. Good food and the prices were great.... More

Great food. The fried chicken and the pecan encrusted chicken were delicious. The mac & cheese great. Portions are large. We just couldn't pass up the cornbread served warm with butter & honey.

We did not have a long wait as can happen at this popular place on Meeting Street. While waiting you can easily engage in restaurant talk with the other waiting customers. The owner was there and came around and talked with us. Friendly wait staff and good food.

Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant. The menu featured all southern favorites including fish, meat loaf, grits and fried chicken. We went with some fried green tomatoes something you would never find in Canada and the chicken basket.my wife for her side chose fried Okra. Many in the restaurant were going with Mac and cheese. The portions were huge more... More

After hearing so many great things about it, I should have paid attention to Trip Advisor's more recent negative comments about Jestine's Kitchen. We saved it for our last night in Charleston as a special time, but boy were we let down in a big way. We had a hard time finding anything to eat that wasn't fried besides the... More

We had just arrived in Charleston and were looking for some place that was open. It had been recommended by our B&B but I must say we were disappointed. Cornbread was a disappointment. One of our party ordered a side of green beans and we were horrified when they arrived - they were 'canned' beans which they charged us $2.75... More

I had seen the great reviews for this restaurant on line. We were in Charleston after going to the Masters. Long line when we arrived but it moved right along. All the reviews were correct. I had the famous Jestines chicken. It was great! Everyone else really enjoyed their meals also.

I had to have fried chicken having traveled to the South. I was not disappointed. The chicken was flavorful and so moist that it dripped down my arm--and it was a chicken breast! The portions are huge and the sides are tasty--and all of it at reasonable prices. I can see why they are so highly recommended!

We were just walking. Saw the restaurant, checked out the menu and decided to go. When we went to open the door, the couple waiting informed us of the line around the corner, just did not see it. We were actually kind of happy to see the line, we stumbled onto a gem of a restaurant. As we were waiting... More
