Amazing dinner to celebrate upcoming birthday at McCrady's tonight. Rare wine 2005 Chateau Grillet was perfect with exquisite warm pea salad followed by roasted snapper. Strawberry bread pudding with rhubarb sorbet, rhubarb marshmallows, and shaved rhubarb could not have been better. Our server Tyler was so helpful, enthusiastic, and knowledgable. We've been to several of the 5 star restaurants in the US and McCrady's is just a smidge below which makes it a good value. The reason it is just shy is a good one. Their meals and waitstaff are more informal and friendly but just as knowledgeable as those at a 5 star. The food concept of small and... More

This is the best restaurant in Charleston!! We had a wonderful dining experience. The menu requires some help from the server. We luckily had Morgan who gracefully guided us thru to the most wonderful dining experience. We never have desert, but because of Morgan our servers recommendation, we did. They called it strawberry bread pudding, which to me would too... More

The building is steeped in history (it was a tavern once upon a time...) and the decor is stylish with large contemporary canvasses on bare brick walls. The service is friendly and efficient - we particularly enjoyed interacting with one of the waitresses. However the tasting menu left us somewhat unimpressed. It was perfectly balanced and orchestrated but also somewhat... More

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed! We did have a reservation and were seated at great table. Our waiter, Michael, was extremely knowledgeable-he knew every ingredient in all of the dishes we asked about. Garth, the sommelier, brought us some of the best wines we've ever had-by the glass! We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing, unhurried dinner. This... More

Having been to McCrady's several times one the past the menu has changed style and the food is not as good as in the past. Menu put together strange small and large plates intermingled. They suggest getting several dishes which is ok but very disorganized. Service is good but I prefer the other style. Much more complete dishes. Will not... More

I came for dinner and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about the drinks as well as the food. The food was delicious. The cocktails and wine were great and paired very well with the food. This was the culinary highlight of my visit.

McCrady's is simply wonderful. We had eaten there about two years ago and made a special trip to Charleston to eat there again. We weren't disappointed. The food is truly special. It is generally American, but incredibly inventive with all kinds of layers of flavor going on. Our dishes were superb. And although we usually share just one dessert between... More

Visited day we arrived in Charleston. Sunday evening around 5:45 w/o reservation. Waiter was very helpful. Great wine pairings - great food. Definitely worth the price.

From the minute we walked in I knew it would be different yet special. Beautiful bar in a separate room we did not know about but would go back and sip an Old Fashion. The menu is farm to table and our meals were outstanding. It does change seasonally, I yearn for the sunchoke side dish..I have never tasted anything... More
