Delicious!

Food was marvelous, atmosphere was nice, service was friendly and efficient. Only negative was portions were small for the price. Hard to find with a small sign pointing down a small alley, but once there...👍!

Decided to treat ourselves to dinner here for our honeymoon. After seeing Sean Brock on tv, could not resist this restaurant. Seeing as I grew up in the same area as him, I was even more intrigued and happy to see his success. I felt like royalty as soon as I walked in the door. Had a reservation, which I'm... More

We attended a wedding rehearsal dinner at McCrady's with a party of a little over 65. Quite often service and food for a group this large is not good but not the case here. The service was prompt with the entire group being served without any delays and the food was excellent. When I looked at the menu and saw... More

The driver pulled up in what appeared to be an alley and I was really taken aback. However, upon entering this former stable, I was swept away by the charm of the preserved portions and the exquisite woodwork and beveled glass. Then came the food. I thought the price fixe would be too much food for me but the portions... More

Beautiful old building with lots of history. Our waiter was very well versed in the history and delightful in delivering it. It's a little expensive but well worth the value and the experience. The food was very inventive. If you like scotch, they have some very interesting scotches--I had Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey from Japan. It was the best I've... More

This was our second visit to McCrady's. It was a busy summer, Saturday night. We had made reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. The server seemed new as he kept needing to look at notes, but he was careful to give us complete answers to all of our questions. I have food issues and can ask some... More

I am very picky about restaurants. IMHO a "good" culinary experience should include good food, good service, good venue, etc. McGrady's is the place where I had the best culinary experience in Charleston so far. McGrady's has been in operation since the late 1778. Yes, you read right. No typo. McGrady's has been in operation since 1778. That in itself... More

In every way, our evening was super. Started with a whiskey sour (hadn't had one in years but the woody bar made me think of old fashioned drinks). Menu was interesting and different with small plates (good sized for appetizers) and medium plates (entree size). The combinations were excellent and the taste combinations outstanding.

Charleston offers so many wonderful dining experiences, and even with this caveat, McCrady's stands out. The side street location opens in a a quiet, romantic, and unbelievably good restaurant. The service is understated and excellent, everything we ate was delicious and the setting is quiet and makes you feel like you are truly someplace special.

One of the best meals that I have ever had, but very expensive. We did the four course meal with wine pairings. The ambiance was amazing. It has been a year since I had this meal and I still think about it from time to time.
