Off the Beaten Path

Went here for lunch. It is a small quaint place off the beaten path. However, it draws a crowd! We got there for a late lunch but had to wait for a table for 2. I had a wonderful half salad and half sandwich. VERY good and portions are large so don't think you won't have enough by ordering the... read more

I took my daughter-in-law and 21 month old grandson to Five Loaves Mt. Pleasant location this week. Seating is very tight on inside. They do have an enclosed outdoor patio that appeared roomier. Service was quick and courteous. Lots of menu choices and at least six homemade soups. I had the Southwest Potato Soup and roast beef sandwich. Excellent! They... More

Visiting Charleston again and saw this suggestion on trip advisior. So glad we tried it! Everything was wonderful. We shared a bowl of black bean chicken chili and also shared the blacken cod over red beans and rice. Very nice presentation and they split it into two plates with no "sharing " charge. Food and service were wonderful. We are... More

Very creative menu and everything was excellent. Best food we experienced in Charleston. Both the Porter sandwich and the Talipia were unique and cooked to perfection.

We found the Mt Pleasant location tucked into the corner of a small shopping center. It is tiny, but we got a table for 8 on Friday night with no problem. The servers were friendly and efficient and gave great recommendations. Food was served promptly and all of our meals were delicious. We all chose from the "Specials" menu and... More

TripAdvisor comes thru again! This eclectic Charleston/Mt. Pleasant restaurant is GREAT! We ate at the Mt. Pleasant location, across the river from downtown Charleston. It's tucked away in the back corner of a small shopping center -- you need to look hard to find it. (Better directional signage would help!) That said, we were seated immediately on a busy rainy... We were looking for a low-key spot to get a late dinner on a Saturday night after flying all day from the West Coast. Reviews seemed to indicate that this might work. Boy, did it ever. You can get a great dinner with great service without having to spend a ton of money. Eclectic and inventive menu. The wine list... More

I have written reviews on this bistro before. My wife and I eat there often and the service, staff and food have never disappointed us. If you make just one visit you can’t help but notice the place is full of regulars. Most people know the menu by heart and consider the staff friends. I would say the largest topic... More

This charming little cafe was a 'find' and delight. Good food & service plus great prices. The place was packed and I really enjoyed my light, fresh meal - felt like home. Not far from the center of tourist action but tucked in a residential neighborhood. I highly recommend this little jewel. Ruby Kidd
