A friend guided me to this smallish restaurant located on the corner of Coming St. and Cannon St. in Charleston, SC. She had eaten there before and highly recommended it to me. We arrived about 9 pm, and were concerned about the late hour. The crowd was youngish, and the restaurant was nearly full. They offer a variety of Salads,... More

Excellent dinning experience- a small place serving fresh/local food from a limited but unique menu. The waitress (Lauren) was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Local/craft beer is available and the wine list was small but very adequate.

Our favorite place for lunch. Great soup and sammies. Very small yet worth the effort. What a great little neighborhood gem. The place was full of locals which tells you a lot. I only wish every town had a little neighborhood joint like this. Kind of a "Urban Hipster" cafe. Take the time to find it.

We went for dinner to Five Loaves. It proved to be beyond our expectations. The neighborhood is not the nicest but the restaurant is so good, you do not mind. Service was fantastic, unobstursive, but always attentive. We had tilapia piccatta and blackend tue, which was a daily special. But was inventive, portions reasonable and quality very good. The ambiance... More

We recently moved to Charleston from the Atlanta area but as visitors we had had numerous visits to Five Loaves Cafe and had always found the food to be excellent. Last night we went to the Mt. Pleasant location with our family who were visiting from San Francisco. We had raved to our family how great Five Loaves was and... More

Stopped here for lunch and found interesting lunch specials and soup, I addition to the regular menu. I chose a soup sampler to try three of the soups offered. All sounded good so how could anyone choose just one. I also had one of the featured salads which was really great. For vegans, vegetarians, and those in need of gluten... More

I really like Five Loaves because the food is fairly priced and delicious. I first went during a restaurant week and everything was great except the dessert. I've determined they don't know what cheesecake should be like. The second time I visited, I ordered off the regular menu and it was wonderful. There are a lot of vegetarian options, gluten... More

We were in town for my son's wedding and we had rented a house on Coming St. What a surprise when we discovered that FLC was walking distance from the house! We went twice for lunch and the server even recognized us. Excellent soups, salads, and sandwiches. If you are in a gluten free diet, this is the place to... More

Five Loaves never disappoints. Anytime I'm there, I always go with the Parker sandwich on a croissant. A massive slab of delicious pork loin, spinach, tomatoes, and a spicy bleu cheese sauce. SO. GOOD. The broccoli cheddar soup is so good and comforting during the colder months, and the focaccia with olive oil and balsamic is always good. This might... More
