Love this place! Always a great meal, especially the specials! The tomato pie is TO DIE FOR! They are a small place, so the menu can be limited at times. The pastry case is full of delicious things, but can run out very quickly. You will not regret eating here!

My husband and I went to Charleston SC this past weekend and wanted to visit the Dixie Supply Bakery and Cafe because we had seen it on "Triple D" with Guy Fieri. We walked to the place from the Battery and when we got there some people were sitting outside but there were some vacant tables inside. We opened the... More

I was disappointed by the food and the fact that what they call acSausage Gravy seemed to have come from a can. It was not the same they showed on Diners! Drive Ins and Dives

We stopped here on a "taste of the town" tour with Bulldog Tours. We had heard of it on "Diners, drive-ins and dives". We tasted their grits and sweet potato cornbread (more like a cake). I wanted to return and eat but it didn't work out. If we're ever in the area we will certainly return.

We traveled from North Charleston for breakfast. After paying for a parking garage, and the 40 minute drive, we walked a few blocks to the restaurant. They were closed. Apparently, any time they book a catering service, they have to close the restaurant down. They don't bother to put this information on their website (we close when catering, call before... More

Locals recommended Dixie Supply to my wife and me for brunch while in Charleston recently. It is truly a hole-in-the-wall but a wonderful one. A long line greeted us outside Dixie Supply but at least it was a "friendly" line. Everyone passed menu's down the line. About the time we received our food, a downpour struck. Fortunately, we were one... More

The shrimp and grits are the best! We been visiting here for years and it is always great. Yes, it's small and yes, it's old but it's local food that's cheap and yummy.

We wanted to try it on the basis of two recommendations: Guy Fieri of the TV show "Triple D" and our carriage tour driver. While I understand the carriage tour driver's propensity to give great recommendations, I'm disappointed in Guy's recommendation. This was definitely a dive. My husband wanted to try to the Island omelet and he said it was... More

I got the much touted tomato pie that was featured on Diner's drive Ins and Dives. I've had much, much better tomato pie from Philadelphia PA than what I was served today. It was ok but not worthy of any notoriety. My husband got a shrimp and green tomato blt which he said was mediocre at best. The place really... More

I have yet to be blown away by some of the places that Guy visits. This was better than some of the other spots I have gone too that was featured on Triple D. Had the shrimp blt with fried green tomato. Girlfriend had a cinnamon bun and one of her bites included a small piece of plastic wrap. This... More
