We had heard about this place through the food network, so we had high hopes. When we arrived several tables were empty but had not been cleared. We ordered and then cleared and cleaned our own table so we could sit down. The wait time on our food was not too bad, however when it arrived the fried chicken was... More

We ate at Dixie's as a family. We had heard of the place on television. Sorry Guy F. we weren't impressed. After waiting a reasonable amount of time, we got 3 of our orders. I waited inside for my son's order. Eventually it came, but I had to then request our toast. After waiting for that I got to my... More

Dixie Supply Bakery and Cafe exceeds its hype. Even if they charged more for their food, it would still remain a highlight of our trip to Charleston. First, the fried green tomato appetizer was breathtaking in the perfection of its presentation- crisp and not greasey, flavorful without loosing the tang of the tomato. One of my daughters had a wrap... More

I came here to visit the lowcountry and i was told that i would enjoy some great tomatoe pie and sweet corn bread. Me and my family got their around 10:30 and waited for an whole hour for our food but also listen to the employee because rude and beligerant because he did not want to cook. I was in... More

We almost walked away when we saw the long line but wanting to try another Diners, Drivins & Drives we waited. And good thing too. Not a fancy place by any standard but the selection and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Just the thing for relief from expensive Charleston restaurants.

We arrived at Dixie Supply Bakery on a Sunday morning around 8:30 am. They were already out of some items on their specials board......luckily we didn't want what they were out of. We ordered the Dixie Breakfast Special and Dixie Benedict. The breakfast special was a good value, while I thought the Dixie Benedict should include a side such as... More

We were brought here during a culinary tour of Charleston, so we had no idea until our tour guide told us this place was on Dives, Diners and Drive-ins as well as in Southern Living. I was pretty shocked to read some of the reviews after having eaten here twice now, but I have to say our experience was nothing... More

My 32 year old daughter brought me to Dixie because she once had a killer BLT here and wanted to try it again. We got there around 10am and got in line...outside the restaurant. About 30 minutes later, we stood in front of the frazzled order taker, phone answerer & cashier. My daughter could not order the BLT because it... More

Guy Fieri missed the boat on this disappointing restaurant. Expensive and over priced for mediocre food. Our breakfast cost $27.00 for 2 Pepsi drinks, a State Street biscuit, and a shrimp BLT all served on paper plates with plastic spoons and forks. Garbage was overflowing; dirty tables, and floors. No restroom on the premises. Rude workers who were more interested... More

What a great little joint! This is not the polished and packaged venue made to order for tourists. The place is clean and well lit with inside and outside seating. Staff were awesome, friendly, helpful, all around wonderful. The menu is quite varied and breakfast is available all day. We visited late in the morning and chose breakfast items, pancakes,... More
