Not as good this time around but still good

We discovered this place a couple of years ago and always look forward to coming back. We came back this time and for me, it wasn't as good as it had been. But still worth a visit. I got the chicken and waffles which were tasty but I wasn't a fan of the peach topping that they put on it... read more

What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in great food. The inside is small and there a few tables outside looking at a parking lot. Fantastic fried Chicken and Waffle breakfast.

After reading such good reviews I thought this place would be better. The vanilla French toast was average and the chicken and waffles were good. Had to sit outside because it was too hot inside.

This place was right around the corner from our hotel. The food is cheap and very good. I had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and a blueberry bar and wasn't disappointed. My mother had the Lilly's French Toast and she said it was great. The cream cheese filling was awesome. There were a lot of locals going in and... More

This is my return visit. I found this dive/hole in the wall because it was highly recommended. I might have missed it otherwise because it's small and not much to see on the outside (and next to the Scotchman convenience store). The grits are what other grits aspire to be. The eggs are delicious and the bacon strips are closer... More

No, it's not in the tourist area, but it's a block away, and it's worth it. We were in Charleston for the weekend and this is the best meal we had. Lunch for my husband was the shrimp and grits, which was amazing. Instead of sausage it was just shrimp and bacon but the sauce was phenomenal. Some kind of... More

I have always lived here in the beautiful Low Country of South Carolina and didn't even know about this until yesterday. One of the best Shrimp & Grits I've ever had. Husband got the Chicken & Waffle and said he loved it.....he is the pickiest food critic ever. Only problem is no a/c and no credit cards (at least when... More

Had eaten here before because I saw it on Triple D. Went back because it was good, The grits are excellent. It is completely "no frills". Place your order at the counter, they call your name and you go pick it up.

Stopped here on Culinary tour which is when we had the delicious grits and had to come back for Tomato pie the next day. We took our order to go and I have to say the food was good but I was a little surprised at the price. I ordered a tomato pie, the pecan pie, a biscuit w/gravy and... More

While visiting Charleston we asked a local the best place for breakfast in downtown Charleston and he recommended Dixie Supply Bakery & Cafe (by the City Market). My husband had chicken and waffles, and my son and I had the shrimp and grits. My shrimp and grits were delicious, the grits were so creamy and the shrimp was seasoned perfectly.... More
