Slow cooked grits!

I grew up on grits, and love them, but never knew they could be this amazing! Grits cooked overnight are just incredible.

This is a favorite breakfast stop whenever we visit Charleston, which is often. Not a fancy place, but food is good, variety is great, and the Heirloom Tomato Pie is all it is cracked up to be, recommended. Also good place for college kids to get a good Saturday breakfast after Friday night "socializing"

This is a hole in the wall. It is attached to a convenience store and not much to look at. There is limited seating inside, but we went on a slow day/time and easily got a table. The order-taker was efficient and pleasant, but I wouldn't say the service was outstanding. It appears a bit rugged and perhaps a tad... More

First, we were very lucky to find a parking place in the small lot. (The lot across the street wants $10 no matter how long one is parked there!) There was a short wait, but it wasn't bad, and the staff members are friendly and efficient. I ordered the biscuit with gravy, egg, and fried chicken with a small coffee.... More

I would hate to miss Dixie Supply's tomato pie during a trip to Charleston. One of these days, I hope I can replicate that recipe, because one slice is not enough! My only feedback is that the portion size on the pie needs to be increased, or the price dropped. A small slice of tomato pie, a piece of coffee... More

Went here on our culinary tour and what a gem of a place this is! Would have never thought to try this place since it's next to a convenience store but what a wonderful little diner. Reminds me of a diner back home with great, fresh food and nice people.

We thought we'd never get in. We were there before 930 am and walked right in. I had a chicken waffle sandwich and it was delicious!!! Friends got an omelet and a wrap and we all agreed it was a fantastic meal. People were packing in as we were leaving so I'm glad we got there when we did.

After seeing an old episode of triple D, we decided while visiting the city to drop in for breakfast. The shrimp BLT and chicken & waffles were out of this world!! We will definitely be back!

Had seen it on Triple D and tracked it down on a trip to Charleston. Almost walked right by it but glad we didn't. Both the 'State St Biscuit' and 'Peaches & Cream pancakes' were outstanding.

We stumbled on this little spot on a rain Saturday in search of a light breakfast. We left with anything but, opting for the State Street biscuit: a mouth-watering, open-faced fried chicken biscuit smothered in gravy with a fried egg. If you have a sweet tooth in the morning (I don't) they have all sorts of syrupy delights. Give it... More
