This is our third trip to Charleston and we have stayed at three very nice hotels. This trip we stayed at the Francis Marion Hotel and the attached Swam Fox Restaurant served an excellent breakfast, best we've had on any stay in Charleston. Staff was friendly and pleasant and food was outstanding. We ordered off of the menu and will... More

Instead of a "regular" dinner I had three super appetizers including my favorite, she crab soup. That and a fine riesling made for a nice dinner. Sometimes ya gotta not eat your vegetables.

In town for a conference and staying at the Francis Marion. Turned out to be a cold rainy day so I wanted to get lunch and take it to my room where I would have lunch and a nap in the warmth and comfort of my room since I wasn't feeling well. I asked if they did carry out and... More

We paid a visit to Charleston over Thanksgiving and enjoyed the special Thanksgiving buffet at Swamp Fox Restaurant located inside the Francis Marion Hotel. Our favorites: shrimp and grits, turkey and gourmet stuffing, collard greens, yams, roasted root vegetables and fresh green salad. We were offered a complimentary mimosa and there were lots of desserts to choose from, but who... More

Great shrimp and grits plus all the normal thanksgiving fare. Desserts were great too. A bargain at $39.

This delicious buffet begins with fresh salads and lots of fresh vegetables. There is succulent turkey and ham and sometimes prime rib. There is always a type of fish also. Then, there are white and wheat rolls with creamy little butter balls. There are delicious mashed potatoes and gravy along with macaroni and cheese. Other vegetables or casseroles include corn,... We had limited time for lunch and we were served promptly. The salads with crab cakes added were delicious!
