This is a really fun place for lunch or dinner. It is a lively bar with tasty food and interesting characters and staff. When in Charleston you must go to the Griffon.

Anytime I visit a new city I always look for the small places. I love them and I really like the atmosphere of the Griffin. I have been here several times now, only for beer and socializing with friends. I haven't eaten here yet. The first few times were great until we needed to tab out at one of my... More

I visited Charleston with my work crew last year and we stumbled upon the Griffon. We had been to a ton of fancy bars... Which I love, but we wanted cheap and dive-y. The Griffon delivered. From dollars lining the walls to lots of great beers on tap... This is a great place for folks to go to have fun... More

Opted to watch the World Cup finals here due to its quirky look inside. Great location near the Battery. Decent food. Good beer selection. Wine list was ehh (it's a pub not a wine bar). Plenty of TVs to watch sports. Friendly staff.

I was extremely disappointed with this place. The waitress said their Reuben was what they are known for - well I guess they must not be known. This was the WORST excuse for a sandwich I have ever seen. It was a sauerkraut sandwich - and a damn thin one at that. Once slice of bologna would have GREATLY exceeded... More

Eclectic little pub to cool off in. Good selection of beers and good value if you want to choose a regular brew. $2.00 PBR draft pints when we were there. Friendly Staff

Great pickles and beer, good service too. Beth was fantastic! We even paid for the bill with the dollars on the wall :) The Porter tasted like coffee, weird at first but grew on us.

Well worth the time to go in and see the interior, drink a Guiness (or whatever) and appreciate the years of history that have passed thru those walls

We just got done our walking tour & were famished. We walked in & sat down at first thought we would not get served. There was only one waitress (she did a great job but they might want to think about adding another waitress/waiter for the lunch hour) but In less than 5 minutes, she had ice teas on the... More

I do not know if we hit this place on an off day or what because our experience with service was not like all the other comments. We walked in and were greeted but that ended it. We waited and nothing, we walked to the bar, nothing. We sat at the table...still no waitress came. So we got up and... More
