Great local hangout. $2 High Life's and fried oysters and shrimp, you can't go wrong with this place. Close to the water taxi pier.

We love to eat at the Griffon every time we come to Charleston. The food is always good, the right temperature, and a great portion size. Today my husband enjoyed an Old Fashioned Reuben with fries and a pickle spear. I ordered a chicken salad wrap and green beans. The green beans were well seasoned and the chicken salad was... More

A bunch of us went out on a walking tour and lunch had been arranged here. They were ready for us with a table for 20 and had one waitress who was beyond amazing. She got every order correct, was very quick, friendly, had refills on drinks before asking- just amazing. I had the fish and chips as did others... More

Visit griffon if you're visiting Charleston waterfront area. Unbelievably cheap price and good quality tasty (British) food. Many drink specials starting only $2 - You get almost every beer under $5. Great pub with many big screen TVs.

Best fish and chips we've had in years! Excellent cod, battered and fried perfectly. The French fries were seasoned just right. I had the Palmetto Espresso Porter --very good! We had excellent service and even signed and left a dollar bill on the premises! We will definitely come back.

Okay, they didn't know our names because we were tourists, but they seemed to know everyone else's. We loved this bar for it's excellent fish and chips, friendly hometown service and great beer! We always look for where the locals eat and this was authentic. Ninety percent of the patrons were locals of both the blue and white collar (we... More

We were out trying to enjoy Charleston in a constant rain. We were tired, cranky and clearly needed some food (and beer!), so we stopped in for a lunch/supper kind of thing. The first thing you will notice is that the pub is COVERED in $1 bills, signed by previous patrons and stuck everywhere. They even covered the deer head... More

I always come here when I visit town. We stopped in for dinner and beers after driving up from Key West. Long drive and I was really needing a beer. Tried an IPA and then a Palmetto expresso porter or stout, I forget which, but it was great! I had kind of sworn off fish and chips because I keep... More

I'm not a fried food connoisseur. I went to The Griffon at the recommendation of several locals. They always said, "you've got to try the Fish & Chips". Very small, cozy pub with good service. However, I went at an off time when I was only the 5th person in the pub. Glad I went because, the Fish &Chips were... More
