I've eaten all over Charleston, all the high end restaurants and quick and easy eateries, Fig was definitely the best. Make a reservation well in advance.
The food here is very good and the service is excellent. But as trendy restaurants go, it's over rated and way overpriced. We had a much better dinner at another restaurant at a more reasonable price. It's also very noisy. I wouldn't go back when there are so many other good restaurants in Charleston.
Spent a long weekend in Charleston for our anniversary. We were excited to try FIG as it was highly recommended to us. It did not disappoint! It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Service was excellent! Our server provided excellent recommendations. Had the lamb carne cruda appetizer which was fantastic. I had the triggerfish... More
In Charleston for "girls' getaway weekend" and dined at Fig on a Friday night. Although we couldn't get an actual reservation we were advised to come in and wait for a bar table, which we did. Cocktail menu included several specialties & wine list was well rounded. Food was quite good (gnocchi, triggerfish, root veggies, apple cobbler) & bar service... More
Everything about this meal was excellent - service, ingredients, preparation. Highly, highly recommended. If you love great food, do yourself a favor and dine here.
Minimalist but elegant atmosphere. Fabulous service. Wonderful bread. If the tomato tarte tatin with fromage blanc is available, do try it as there was so much concentrated flavor on that plate! My entree, the fish stew in cocotte, was one of the most flavorful seafood dishes I have ever encountered! Make sure to make a reservation well in advance as... More
Modern new cuisine, slick restaurant. The food was fancy and very pricey. Looked good though well arranged. You are better off having a booking. We waited at the cocktail bar for 45 minutes and then got a place at the bar. I am vegetarian and there was nothing at all. If they had shown us the menue before we had... More
This was two great meals in a four day eating marathon. Book early this place is packed because the food is world class. We enjoyed our first night so much that we came back for night two. The gnocchi was heaven. This is a do not miss!!
How we managed to nab a table at this bustling spot is a mystery to me...well, that's not exactly true. And I will share the secret: arrive 5 minutes before they open and be willing to eat at the bar! Don't worry; it's the same great food and the same friendly service! And if you are lucky--as WE were--you will... More
My husband and is enjoyed a 10+ or Michelin 3star level dinner at Fig on 11/12. Our waiter Matthew brought the cuisine to an even higher level with his detailed and accurate "foodie" descriptions setting up our palettes for the extraordinary meal the chef prepared and was ultimately served. Plus, his knowledge about food was paired with his bar selection... More
