Best restaurant I have ever visited

This restaurant simply has it down. Food, ambiance, service. Exceptional. We visited Magnolia, Cypress and many other Charleston restaurants during a week long visit. This was so far the best in Charleston. And the best restaurant of the hundreds if not thousands I have visited. Simply a gem.

This was clearly a nice place to eat, though it wasn't exactly the best fit for our tired family with kids. The menu was very short, and everything was interesting and tasty, but it might not offer enough variety for picky eaters. Our waitress was a bit humorless but was efficient. Portions were small but satisfying and really, really delicious.... More

The best meal we had in Charleston! The gnocchi melted in our mouths, the turnip green and peach salad was perfect (I know it doesn't sound that great but trust me, I'm still dreaming about it), and the desert (I don't remember the name) was a divine cross between cheesecake and ice cream, embedded with pecans and topped with blueberries... In a town with no shortage of great restaurants its hard to stand out but Fig does. I went to Charleston to sample their fine dining offers but would have loved the trip for Fig alone.

An original menu with twists you don't expect but that you will enjoy. Not a fancy décor, kind of modern style and close quarters, but the chef fare will make up for that. We went early to avoid the crowds since the local media is giving this place rave reviews. The bar is small, could be bigger, but was well... More

My friend and I walked in without reservations tonight and were lucky to be seated immediately at the communal table. What a blast! In addition to the wonderful food, service and ambiance it was an adventure meeting new people! I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu...but you must try the gnocchi appetizer! Pillows of deliciousness... More

On a recent visit to Charleston, friends took us to FIG for one of the most unique taste experiences we've ever had. Fresh fish from local waters like wreck fish with an outstanding sauce was a delight. The chef brought us a salad that was by far the most unique blend of favors and textures I have ever eaten. Wine... More

When I can get a table, FIG is a wonderful treat. The menu is creative and delicious. The interior is plain Jane, but you are there for the food. I just wish it wasn't so popular so I could eat there more often.

Our dinner visit to FIG was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed local, fresh food combined in inventive ways. The wonderful service complimented the meal. The meal did seem a little costly for my liking (however, it is in downtown Charleston and makes use of high quality ingredients). Would recommend for a special occasion!
