I have been to this restaurant twice now and both times my food was outstanding! And our waitress was very attentive. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

My husband and I arrived late on Saturday night with no reservations but we're able to get seated immediately at rue De jean! Our server, andreas, was amazing! He gave perfect wine pairings for our meal! Started with mussels and a side of fries to dip in the sauce, so yummy! My husband had the duck confit and I had... More

We ate dinner outside on the side patio. I am very glad we were seated there, it was a beautiful evening, and it was nice and quiet. Inside the restaurant was so loud, that dining inside would have ruined the evening. We would not have been able to carry on a conversation without shouting and constantly repeating ourselves. So if... More

We had some family in town and wanted to take them out to dinner to a place that wouldn't break the bank. We had been to "Rue" 3 times previously and always thought it was a pretty good value. The night we went we had 2 orders of a cod dish, 1 red snapper, 1 grouper, and 1 scallop dish,... More

I visited the restaurant during a girl's trip to Charleston. The special of the day was scallops, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, and fresh bread. The food was delicious. The server was very knowledgeable and excellent at keeping my ice tea glass full. I highly recommend 39 Rue de Jean if you are in Charleston.

Since my favorite restaurant in Charleston has been closed for a while, and since I almost always got the bunny when I was there (lapin a la moutarde), I had to try the rabbit at 39 Rue de Jean. It was a quite different preparation, but very good. It was completely a la carte (no accompanying vegetables), for what that's... More

I've been here several times with friends, family, customers, and clients. It provides some great French cuisine and nightly specials. The wait staff is knowledgable, friendly, and attentive. One little secret is that they serve reasonably priced sushi. So if you're sitting up in the bar area, grab a couple rolls and enjoy the atmosphere. It's one of the must... More

Suggested by staff at MUSC- just a short walk from Rutledge Towers- wonderful lunch and good value, attentive service. We had special of day- cod, asparagus, salad (wonderful) risotto, ice tea, left overs package to enjoy later. Would return in a heart beat

We were dead tired when we got to the 39 Rue de Jean (close to the Hampton Inn). The service was fast and friendly. My drink, a Citron Mojito, was a little too sweet but still refreshing. I had rabbit for an entree and enjoyed it a lot. My husband had the lamb shank and gave it two thumbs up.... More
