We had to wait to be seated but certainly worth it! Fresh ingredients gives a taste of Thailand!! Had Tom Yom Goong Soup and Pad Thai Noodles and request spicy if you can manage it!! After a long drive it was a welcome treat!!!!

I had a hankering for some thai food so my husband and I trekked through the rain after our tour of Fort Sumter to go eat here. I got the masaman curry which was absolutely fantastic and my husband got the pad thai which he said was also very good. We then got a couple of tasty drinks while we... More

We dropped in to Basil Thai for lunch while on vacation. My husband and I remember being at this restaurant about 6 years ago and having a wonderful meal. Our visit this time did not dissapoint. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was fabulous. I had wide noodles with basil, perfectly spiced and layered with flavor. My husband... More

When walking up to the Basil your not sure if this is the place, but as soon as you open the door and walk in you know you have arrived. Lots of locals call this place a favorite and you will taste why. I had some of the best Pad Thai ever, something I was not expecting in this lovely... More

We were here during restaurant week and had a very pleasant surprise. Their special was a three course meal for only twenty dollars. There were a number of appetizers and entrees to choose from and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Thai food is our favorite and this was as good as any we have had. I wish we lived closer... More

Went out for my daughter's birthday dinner to Basil. Two words: Basil Duck! Wow! Other food was excellent too. But the duck is to die for. Food is well spiced, which for someone who lived in Thailand was great. But my wife suffered; so order the food mild if spicy food is not your thing.

The decore reminded me of a nice diner - nothing special. The service was OK but was lacking at times. Our server simply did not listen and had her own agenda. She took our plates before we finished. It was restaurant week in Charleston. We ordered from their special menu for the week. The prices were steep for what you... More

Arrived into town very late, and was still able to have dinner here. The food was very good. The only issue I had was the restaurant was very loud. It was only 1/4 full at the time, but still had a hard time having a comfortable conversation at dinner.

We found this restaurant while strolling along King Street and were so happy we decided to try it. Some if the best Thai food I've had in a long time. Everything we tried was great, but the pad Thai was amazing. Service was very good. We sat outside on a warm evening, but the overhead fan helped.

We enjoyed the Coconut soup and Pad Thai at Basil. The coconut soup is a large serving ,,,enough to split with a dining companion. It is sweet and savory with lots of chicken pieces. The Pad Thai was delicious with just the right combination of ingredients. It was not overly spicy but had enough zing to it. The restaurant is... More
