This is one expensive restaurant! The service was very good, the room extremely attractive and the food good (but not great).
We had just arrived and checked into Charleston Place and decided to have a bite before heading out to King Street. Let me first say our waiter was very nice and attentive. I had the crab salad which looked like a piece of art and had more lump crab on it than I ever dreamed. My friend had a sampler... More
I love having lunch in the Palmetto cafe at Charleston Place. This is a Oriental Express restaurant and I find it superb! For lunch I love the gazpacho soup, and Crab salad and a Bloody Mary but on this last trip I enjoyed the gazpacho and and fabulous crab cakes ! Now I an going to have a hard time... More
I joined three friends for brunch at the Palmetto Cafe prior to my friend's wedding. We all agreed that it was delicious. The drinks were awesome (great blood mary, bellinis and mimosas) and the coffee was SO good. We all got the buffet which was amazing. Literally everything on it was really, really good. There weren't as many options as... More
Have eaten lunch here a few times in the past two years. The decor, ambiance and service are great. The food not so much. I chose the "21 Burger" on my most recent visit. It was cooked to order but served with grilled tomatoes and onions I could have purchased at the local grocery store. At $25 for the burger,... More
Newly renovated, beautiful atmosphere. Service wonderful. Food terrific. Prices were just too high. $25 for chicken salad. I think that is way too much for lunch. Husband had scallops for $14. Just and that up consider tax and top, much too much for two people
I had a Cesar salad with scallops for lunch, it was excellent and was served very quickly and beautifully, my one and only complaint was that it was a tad pricey for lunch (they may want to consider some lighter lunch options), but the service was truly great.

The server assigned to our table was too busy, although there were other servers doing nothing, except staring out into the hallway. We selected the buffet at $27... More
We stopped in at the Charleston Place Hotel to cool off and get refreshed. The Palmetto is one of the hotel's restaurants and we are so glad we went there. After a nice walk downtown on a warm June day, an afternoon iced tea stop was perfect. The Palmetto is a beautifully updated "old southern hotel restaurant" well located downtown.... More
