The food is mediocre. I had lunch and breakfast here. It was no better than your average sandwich shop that charges 75% less. The prices are exorbitant. The average lunch plate is $25. Considering what you're getting (i.e. average food), it is exorbitant. The service is lacking. I feel almost sorry writing this, because the staff seems like nice people.... More

Went as foursome for a weekday lunch. It was pricey, but otherwise outstanding. Atmosphere was elegant but casual. Service very good (if a little overwhelming). The Caesar Salad with chicken and shrimp was especially praiseworthy. A definite go-to place.

The food, especially the omelet with lump crabmeat and chunks of lobster, was delicious. They had a very good continental buffet including fresh fruit, crepes, and quite a variety of breads, muffins, etc. The service was equal to the service my husband and I have received at 5-star restaurants. We did not eat lunch here(because we were full from breakfast)... More

I have had both lunch and dinner in this beautiful restaurant and can easily say every detail is perfect. The restaurant itself (remodeled in recent years) is within the Charleston Place Hotel and is light, bright and comfortable. I love the atmosphere. The service is impeccable and friendly. The breakfast offerings are vast and delicious. I always order the Crab... More

The atmosphere of Palmetto Cafe is quiet, relaxing and the greenery is quite nice. The Crab salad was good, it tasted very fresh and the flavors came together quite nicely. The Sea Bass was good as well, it was cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh. Overall I wasn't extremely impressed, the food was good but there was just something a... More

The Sunday Brunch was outstanding with something for everybody. A wide variety of patrons young and not so young(like me) casual to fancy casual in an upscale setting yet not presumptuous. Well worth a visit.

The café is located in the Charleston Hotel and we ate breakfast there. My husband choose the continental buffet and was happy with the selections. I ordered al la carte and was surprised at the large amount of food that was put before me. Our server, Tiffany, was good. For example, when she filled our glasses with water she used... More

This is located in the Belmond Charleston Place hotel. We had breakfast each dayof our stay, which was included in our room rate. The ambiance is delightful, our waiter, John was exceptional, the food was excellent (either buffet or custom ordered), and it was a great value and experience.

I was a CPH for a three day business meeting and our group had a pre-ordered lunch. I'm a light eater, so ordered Crab soup which was delicious and an appetizer crab cake with a lobster claw which was equally good. Allowing for a group of twenty, the service was a bit slow...after asking for sweetener for my ice tea... More
