This is one of those hotel restaurants that when you leave, you feel ripped off. Yes, the food is slightly above average, but not worth the expensive price tag. Service is very good along with the decor. We had a traditional breakfast and the highlight was the bacon. French press coffee is too strong for me. Get out of the... More

My husband had a business lunch here and said it was outstanding. He said the crab salad was life-changing. Jealous I couldn't go!

If you happen to be in Charleston you must go to Palmetto Cafe. We were going for lobster rolls somewhere else but when I saw this place, we loved it and we stayed! I am so glad we did. We had a wonderful lunch, I had the sampler, so generous and delicious. She crab soup, a crab cake, a chicken... More

We had the Caesar Salad too! It was one of the most bland I have ever had and some of the lettuce was brown. The accompanying shrimp, friend oysters, chicken and scallops were good. The she crab soup was excellent. The service was just ok. A little slow and spotty. We seemed to be hunting for our waiter a lot... More

The breakfast buffet is expensive in Palmetto Cafe but worth the price. You start out with a very good personal pot of coffee. Some of the items on the buffet were lox & bagels, eggs benedict, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, an amazing caramel brioche, a wide selection of pastries and an omelet station. Many times at buffets the croissants... More

This restaurant is located in the Charleston Place and just down the street from King Charles Inn, which is where I stayed. I ate the best Caesar salad I ever had in my life. It came with 2 out 4 choices of seafood on it. I chose shrimp and scallops. It came with both of those on the side with... More

We stayed across the street at Planters Inn and ate several times at the Peninsular Grill for breakfast. To break it up we ate here and it was wonderful. I had the Palmetto Omelette which was very good. Service was OK. We especially enjoyed the interior gardens as my wife is a master gardener and the staff person working the... More

We had someone in our group who was gluten intolerant so they were great to find her something that would work for her. I had the crab salad and it was fresh and uniquely serviced. Very generous portion of crab over avocado. My husband wanted the scallops I'd had the night before at the Charleston Grill in the hotel. Not... More

We received quick service. The food was good and the cost reasonable for a simple breakfast. The ceiling allows light To pour in from above. Tables are well spaced. A good place to begin your day.
