Excellent lunch

Light, bright, airy surroundings provide a great atmosphere. Staff was attentive, but unobtrusive. Meal was perfect and our waiter, Austin, was first class. Highly recommend the Palmetto Cafe.

As I have been coming here for years - and usually stay on concierge level - it is still a treat to go to this most upscale, wonderful restaurant which is on the main level with all the shops and check in. I LOVE the Charleston Grill - but this cafe sings to my heart when I am in town.... More

We were staying at the Charles Place hotel, where the Palmetto Grill is, looking for a quick, yet filling breakfast. The first good impression I got was when the hostess handed me my menu and napkin...directly to me, not dumped on the table. Then she proceeded to pick up the silverware and linens from the table for four, leaving just... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the brunch buffet. The eggs benedict was delicious. The chef prepated omelets were yummy. The fresh fruit was a welcome addition. The pastries were very good. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Charleston Place Hotel recently for a business weekend retreat, and had the distinct pleasure of eating lunch and breakfast at the Palmetto café. For lunch, We especially enjoyed the plantain and short rib appetizer & the seafood club. Very delicious and innovative! We had a delicious breakfast the morning of our departure; you can't go wrong... More

Although the Palmetto Cafe is located in a hotel, the ambiance is lovely and the food and its presentation very good. I would fault the staff. Not friendly, not smiling, a little slow follow-up after seating, especially since the restaurant was not busy. Only exception to this was a middle-aged black woman. My compliments to her. She was friendly and... More

Shopping downtown with a friend and stopped into the Charleston Place Hotel for some lunch. Ordered the shrimp tacos and peach ice tea and both were delicious! Three substantially filled shrimp tacos that were tasty and quite filling. Great service but can be a little expensive for lunch! I definitely will go back!

The food is mediocre. I had lunch and breakfast here. It was no better than your average sandwich shop that charges 75% less. The prices are exorbitant. The average lunch plate is $25. Considering what you're getting (i.e. average food), it is exorbitant. The service is lacking. I feel almost sorry writing this, because the staff seems like nice people.... More

Loved the ambience of the place. Friendly wonderful service. Our waitress was Alice and she was GREAT> We actually asked for her four days in a row...... The food is wonderful and a sensational start to your southern day.....

Went as foursome for a weekday lunch. It was pricey, but otherwise outstanding. Atmosphere was elegant but casual. Service very good (if a little overwhelming). The Caesar Salad with chicken and shrimp was especially praiseworthy. A definite go-to place.
