Great for a quick bite

We decided we needed a quick bite after arriving in Charleston. Hyman's fitted the bill nicely. We ate at the bar, both of us had the shrimp and pups (hush puppies). Yes, it's touristy. sure, you'll wait a while. but it's pure thrill with delicious food...the lunches were great value. I had the salmon medley...salmon prepared four different ways. the food...so amazing, but you really come for the experience, and hymans delivered on this as well.

Great service and delicious food. We were seated quickly and welcomed and the waitress (Martha) was as cute as can be....very personable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place if you are dining in Charleston. You'll love it!!!

Hyman's often has a line out the door. We were lucky and able to sit immediately. Probably not worth much more of a wait than that. Food was ok. Great hushpuppies, decent fried shrimp, crab cakes and fried catfish, mediocre or worse okra, salmon croquet and deviled crab. Probably worth the price but Charleston is expensive in general.

One of the finest meals I have enjoyed at a restaurant. The service was superb. The only problem I had was that I could not eat all my dinner

Hyman's is an icon in Charleston. You start out by standing on the street and submitting your name for a table. Step inside to the bar and have a famous "Bloody Mary". It's delicious . . . filled with olives, lime, onions. . . I forget!!! After a few minutes, your table is ready. The servers are fun and fast!!!... More

From the street the front of the restaurant looks like any other restaurant in a long row of businesses attached side by side, but once you entered you are transported to a unique and fun experience. The walls are covered with signed pictures and plates of notable actors, actresses, entertainers from all walks of life. The restaurant is a converted... More

We stopped by accident at Hyman's because Fig , one of the best in Charleston is closed for lunch. Although not bad and quite tasty, the food was very greasy . My husband and I had a very hard time to digest it. Not for delicate stomachs.
