My wife and I walked in to the Cru Cafe today for lunch and I will promise that there will be many more meals at this terrific restaurant. We did not have reservations and we had timed it so that there was no problem with being seated. Time of day, 11:20, and season, end of January, on a Tuesday; (they... More

We sat at the "chef's" table and loved overlooking the kitchen. Was like dinner and a show. I want to go back next time we are in Charleston. Who knew a sloppy joe could be an amazing meal....yes that's right a sloppy joe was yummy. Great atmosphere.

I'm just sorry we discovered Cru Cafe during my daughter's last year at the College of Charleston. I've eaten there twice, once for dinner, and this past weekend for lunch on a Friday. This restaurant is located close to the market, and is very small. Reservations are recommended. Both times we asked for the counter seats overlooking the kitchen, love... More

I love this place and send all of our renters there when they ask for dining recommendations. I love the lunch salad with duck confit- the best I have ever had! Menu changes but I hope the chef continues to be inventive. Our friends went recently and sat at the chef's table- what a treat, we have never been there!... More

Loved this place. It's situated in an adorable cozy home with open porch. It happened to be down the street from our hotel. So glad we found it. Everyone was really nice and helpful. We didn't have reservations both times we went for lunch and after a short wait we managed to get seated. On one occasion we sat at... More

Stopped in for a lunch... On a busy Saturday. The gentleman hosting was very accommodating to seat us during an extremely busy afternoon for them. If we had to wait, it would have been worth it. The angus burger au poivre with frites was seasoned perfectly. The frites are the typical shoestring fries that were not so typical with truffle... More

My wife and I stopped for dinner for her birthday and had a fantastic time. We sat at the counter by the kitchen and loved watching everything getting prepared, helps to decide what to order! We had the Thai seafood risotto and the braised pork shank, both were awesome! Service was great, everyone was super nice and friendly and atmosphere... More

We had just got into town and decided to search out the Cru Cafe based on TA reviews. We sat on the patio and each had the Mesclun fried Goat Cheese Salad with seared salmon as an add on. Great presentation, healthy portion and prepared deliciously. It was the perfect lunch salad. We enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc along... More
