This is how food should taste!

After living in Charleston for many years and never having made it to Cru Cafe, I will certainly be prioritizing this place from now on! If you love great sandwiches, soups, salads and more, this is the place for you! They have a great pick two lunch option and we were NOT disappointed. It did take... read more

A perfect dining experience. Great service - amazing food - lovely ambience. We loved everything. From the salad that we began with so filled with flavor to the entrées and our lovely hostess

Great food, really fresh. A lot of southern style food and things are cooked to order. Call ahead, it is busy. The staff is polite and friendly with southern charm that makes this a great stop for a meal. It is a noisy.

We went for dinner on 1/13; had the Fried Green Tomatoes to start (with Pork croutons, SO GOOD), and then I had the chicken dish with cheese in the middle and my husband had the scallops. We were both very satisfied. So, we returned for lunch. Mr ordered the brisket sandwich and I had General Tso's chicken. Better than any... More

The food is great, the atmosphere very much Charleston, small, intimate ambiance. This is located on Pinckney St in the heart of the historic market area.

A small cafe with a lot of customers waiting to dine. But, the food was soooo good! We had smoked brisket meatloaf, which was the special of the day. It was probably one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was very attentive. Several different people took our order, brought our wine, and refreshed our waters, so we got... More

We hole-up in Charleston each winter for about three months. That leaves 9 months of anticipation and idle dreaming. My wife is always eager to visit Magnolia Plantation and see the birds. Well, I dream about the restaurants. One of my favorites is Cru Café. Let me tell you why. Heck, it looks like a 1950s café inside, where you... More

Dined at Cru for dinner on a Saturday night. We had reservations but still waited a bit for a table. As mentioned, the restaurant is a converted Victorian home, so it's small. The wait was worth it - the fried green tomatoes were delicious and unexpectedly original (smoked pork belly? yes, please..) The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the... More
