Jut got back from Charleston where we had the pleasure of dining at Cru Café. The restaurant is unusual as from the outside it looks like a (slightly shabby) residential property and certainly shows no signs of what to expect once inside. Upon walking up the stairs to the front porch and entering the restaurant you are greeted by a... More

Previous reviews were spot on, this place is truly a gem! We had the salad with duck and pecans, coconut carrot soup, the shrimp blt, the turkey sandwich with apple chutney, and the truffle fries. Everything was beyond fabulous! Best fries EVER. We were glad we made a reservation, because even at lunch the wait was 1 1/2 hours without... More

we stopped in without reservations and even though they were busy they made us feel welcome. They found us a seat at the counter looking in on the cooks. Well it was in our opinion the best seat in the house. We saw a show with our lunch. The cooks were great and really stirred up our appetites. The food... More

Wow, what an amazing place to eat. When we pulled up, we had no idea that our experience was going to so exceptional. You will need reservations, and the place won't break the bank, but the food is memorable. Don't leave Cru off your list of places to eat while in Charleston.

A very cool stop where the locals go for fine and original dining. I would not have thought to put hot duck, candied pecans on a salad But it was terrific. Best as a series of small plates

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but I'm so glad I took a chance and stopped in. We were very lucky as it was a Saturday lunchtime and very busy with over an hour wait to other people who arrived shortly after us. I can see why this place is so popular as the menu is quite... We were introducing Cru to our inlaws during our fourth visit to this restaurant. My guest agreed that the smoked duck and the Orange cake for dessert lived up to my hype. We had calamari and truffle fries for appetizers? One individual in our party had the pork chops, which I tasted, and would highly recommend. This restaurant has become... More

This was a delightful experience. This is a casual dining experience in a small venue that provided a gourmet quality food experience at a reasonable price! We used TripAdvisor to find it, called and made our reservation. We arrived early and were immediately seated. The staff... Mary Scott... was delightful and attentive. The food was served with a myriad of... More
